The marginal effects are computed from the coefficients of Equation (2), estimated with panel techniques and with the full set of controls. The coefficients are separately reported for different bank types (cooperative, saving and commercial banks) and for different subsamples (pre-2007 and post-2007), 95% confidence intervals.

- The dependent variable is ROA Risk which is the standardized standard deviation of the 3-year rolling ROA. The AME for the variables is obtained by evaluating for each observation an ε-change in FinStruct, FinDivers and the other covariates, computing the derivative of ROA Risk with respect to the covariates and then averaging over the total of observations. Columns 1 and 4 report results for the full sample; Columns 2 and 5 shows results for the pre-2007 subsample (from 1998 to 2006); finally, Columns 3 and 6 contain results for the post-2007 subsample (from 2007 to 2014). Standard errors (in parenthesis) are clustered at the country-year level. The pre-2007 and the post-2007 coefficients for FinStruct (Columns 2 and 3) are statistically different from each other. The same is true for the pre-2007 and the post-2007 coefficients for FinDivers. Significance levels: ∗ p < 0.1, ∗∗ p < 0.05, ∗∗∗ p < 0.01.
