Reporting directly to the CEO Robbie Campo, and acting as Board Secretary, the position supports executive decision-making and regulatory obligations for the fund. Requiring extensive legal experience in superannuation, this role ensures robust controls and proactive responses to industry developments during a period of strategic transformation. This role will act as a trusted advisor to the board and CEO and be relied upon to ensure robust GRC practices enable to fund to deliver comfortable retirement outcomes for their cherished members, the Victorian emergency services and state employees. Kaizen Recruitment has been a proud supporting partner of Women In Investments for many years and last week our Directors Matt McGilton and Amanda Chisholm had the pleasure of sitting in on the fireside chat hearing key insights from Sam, Susan and Greg of Hostplus. The panel shared a breadth of experiences and perspectives with the room which included Sam SICILIA and Greg Clark's own bespoke journeys from physicists and academia respectively into the world of investments, where intellect alone won't drive outcomes. Rather thinking differently, challenging the status quo by driving robust discussions around investment decisioning and the high value placed on "street smarts" on their teams. Susan Orr shared that to be the best in her field she has been open to making unusual moves in her career from asset consulting to an internal career in investment management and also moving across asset classes from her initial specialisation in infrastructure, which many would have been closed off to. Susan shared that it is never too late to think about career changes laterally or otherwise stating that she still has at least 2 decades ahead to enjoy a robust and diverse career ahead. Another persisting theme of the evening was you can be best in class in your field- but also still be a nice person. And that their team aims to treat all the people working diligently behind the scenes from custodians, administrators and external fund managers as key contributors to their successes as a whole. And if you have an approach to people where you only transact.. be prepared to be transacted back.
