As a design practice, we keep evolving. Case in point: suppose AI handles the “what ifs” of spatial layout, so we can lean into the “why” of design? We have been using Finch as a creative co-pilot tool, allowing our design team to explore ideas with freedom while staying grounded in data and feasibility. GRL industrial site, Beringen Our passion lies in creating industrial ecosystems that function as a living part of the environment, not separate from it. We focus on industrial projects that have a positive impact contributing to climate goals, such as designing the most sustainable glass recycling plant in Belgium. Last week marked the inauguration of this CO₂-neutral GRL Glass Recycling & Logistics plant in Beringen. With direct access to the canal, the plant enables up to 100,000 tonnes of glass to be transported annually by water which significantly reduces road traffic and emissions. The GRL plant forms part of the Circular hub, a larger sustainable system in Beringen, where it receives heat from the neighbouring Biosteam facility Biostoom Beringen. It’s inspiring to see this vision translated into a built reality by team effort: this industrial site leads by example in how architecture, infrastructure and sustainability can converge. Unilin offices, Wielsbeke As a tribute to the company’s own materials and values, we designed Unilin's office building using their products throughout every phase of the construction — from the foundation and structural shell all the way to the interior finishing. A green walkway guides employees and visitors towards this warm, functional and future-focused environment where employees stay connected and inspired. At the same time, the office serves as a living showroom: wall panels, floors and interior elements double as a showcase for Unilin’s own products when inviting clients and visitors over. Work in progress - Denengaard, Lochristi Characteristic of Lochristi's identity as a floriculture municipality, the greenhouse serves as both the inspiration and the connecting element of this project. The greenhouse weaves together four archetypal homes with space for commercial activities on the ground floor. The connection with the vineyard and the surrounding landscape take center stage, as the greenhouses at the rear provide a gentle transition between architecture and nature. The passageway links the different parts of the project and serves as a meeting space for residents and users. Client: UrbanLink Group Contractor: EL Bouwpartners
