Leaving the world Lusher than we found it 🌍
About us
Founded in 1995 by six co-founders—Mark and Mo Constantine, Rowena Bird, Helen Ambrosen, Liz Bennett, and Paul Greeves—Lush began as a small cosmetics shop in Poole, Dorset, UK. Since then we have been pioneers in the beauty industry, committed to creating fresh, handmade products that are as kind to the planet as they are to your skin. We pride ourselves on using ethically sourced ingredients and developing cruelty-free, innovative products that challenge the status quo. Our dedication to environmental sustainability and ethical practices is embedded in everything we do. At Lush, we strive to leave the world lusher than we found it. This means actively working to reduce our environmental footprint through packaging-free products and supporting causes that matter. We fight for animal rights, promote fair trade, and push for real, meaningful change in the beauty industry. Our mission is about more than products—it’s about changing the way the world sees beauty. As a 10% employee-owned company, Lush values the contributions of every individual. Our team is the driving force behind our creativity, innovation, and commitment to a better future. By empowering our people and staying true to our mission, we continue to lead the charge for a more ethical, sustainable, and inclusive beauty industry.

🍁 Ask most people around the world to tell you something they know about Canada, and you’re almost guaranteed to hear the word “maple”. 🇨🇦 Whether it’s the red leaf on the flag or the sweet syrup drawn from trees on Canadian soil, maple is undoubtedly synonymous with Canada. It just made so much sense that we would tap into (see what we did there?) that association for a brand new drippy, maple-centric product in celebration of our Canadian roots, values, and pride from coast to coast. Learn more about how our most Canadian product yet came to life on our latest article.👇 #MadeInCanada #SugarShackShowerGel #LushCanada

Our products are only ever as good as the ingredients they’re made from. ❤️ At Lush, that means sourcing the best materials—and doing so in a way that respects people, animals, and the planet. Our dedicated Buying team works directly with producers around the world to find ingredients that meet our standards, considering every decision in terms of workers' rights, environmental impact, animal protection, and transportation. Those values come to life in our Sugar Shack Shower Gel, made by hand in Canada and crafted with ingredients sourced from Canadian producers: 🍁 Organic Maple Syrup A natural humectant that draws moisture into the skin, sourced from Beland Organic Foods in Québec. Working with this local producer helps sustain a practice rooted in Canadian tradition. 🌹 Wild Rose Hips The fruits of wild rose plants, harvested from Saskatchewan wilds during fall and winter. Rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, they’re known for their skin-brightening qualities. 🌿 Staghorn Sumac A shrub with bright red berries found across Canada’s East Coast in the summer. It contains tannins, which help soothe irritation and support healthy-looking skin. 🌼 Alder Catkins The flowers of alder trees collected in New Brunswick over the winter, added for their natural cleansing qualities. Every ingredient is chosen with care, so our products nourish both the skin and the world around us. 🔗 Discover Sugar Shack: https://lnkd.in/g_c-vxei

Our face masks might just be the hardest-working cosmetics in the biz. ✨ They cleanse, exfoliate, balance, soothe, and smooth—leaving all skin types with glowing, healthy complexions. And yet, they’re seriously underrated. 🎉 Today is National Face Mask Day—a day to celebrate the multitasking power of this skincare staple and to share why “fresh” isn’t just a buzzword for us, but the foundation of everything we do. In a world of products built to sit on shelves for years, our Fresh Face Masks are handmade in small batches using fresh fruits, vegetables, clays, and essential oils—without synthetic preservatives. This choice demands more effort, intricate supply chains, and fast delivery to maintain freshness. 🤔 Why go to all this trouble? We believe skincare must be effective, ethically made, and good for the planet. Using fresh ingredients preserves vital nutrients, and for more than 30 years, we’ve led the way in crafting luxurious products that push back against overproduction and waste. 👀 See how we make Mineralize Me Fresh Face Mask—crafted by hand, start to finish, by our talented compounder Ebony Terry! 🔗 Explore our full range of face masks: https://lnkd.in/gubvV6D8

🌈 Last weekend, we kicked off Pride in Vancouver with a joyful pop-up at Cowdog Coffee, in support of Rainbow Refugee Society. For the past 25 years, Rainbow Refugee has been creating safe pathways for queer and trans folks fleeing persecution. We’re proud to stand with them and support their life-changing work. 🐶 Our hosts at cowdog Coffee, a local no-tipping, living-wage café, pulled out all the stops: they created an exclusive Passionfruit Matcha Lemonade just for the event, and 100% of the proceeds from the drink were donated to Rainbow Refugee. Each one also came with a free Somewhere Bath Bomb, courtesy of Lush. In just six hours, the community came together to raise: ✨ $1,500 in tips ✨ $4,800 from drink sales ✨ And with Lush and cowdog rounding it up, a total $10,000 donation to Rainbow Refugee Endless gratitude to Joe Lee and the cowdog team for their heart and hustle, to Rainbow Refugee Society for their tireless advocacy, and to everyone who stopped by to sip, dance, and show up in solidarity. 🔗 Learn more about Rainbow Refugee and how you can support their work: https://lnkd.in/guc9GXh7

It’s an icon. It’s a legend. It’s Karma. 🧡 A fan-favorite fragrance for 30 years, Karma has become one of Lush’s most recognizable scents. 💭 Created by Co-Founder Mark Constantine in 1995, its bold blend of grounding patchouli and bright citrus was inspired by the free-spirited energy of the 1960s—think incense-filled shops, hippie hangouts, and a belief that a better world was possible. But why name it Karma? 🤔 👉 During one of the very first Lush shop openings, Mark overheard a crew helping with the setup grumbling about a parking ticket they’d gotten on their flower-covered VW van. “Bad karma, man!” one of them muttered—and thus the name was born. Now, three decades later, this bestselling scent has been reimagined by our inventors into an entire collection of products: soap, shower gel, massage bar, and even a spa treatment. This is Karma’s world—we’re just living (or smelling) in it. 🔗 Discover Karma: lush.com/us/en_us/c/karma
