This marks a game-changing moment in Canada’s infrastructure journey towards building a stronger Canada. As the voice of Canada’s construction industry, CCA has long been advocating for greater investment in infrastructure and a streamlined approach to major project delivery. The creation of the MPO is a significant step forward in cutting red tape and enabling our industry to deliver projects faster and more efficiently. CCA would also like to congratulate Dawn Farrell on her appointment as the inaugural Chief Executive Officer of the MPO. With her proven leadership and extensive experience in advancing large projects, she is well-positioned to work with industry to create the conditions for success. Canada’s construction industry is ready to collaborate with government to ensure the sector has what it needs to help deliver the nation-building infrastructure Canadians need and deserve. Time flies when you’re keeping busy. This year, we have blended the ECA’s Q2 and Q3 advocacy updates into a single report to capture all of the activities that have kept the volunteers of your Edmonton Construction Association’s Government Relations and Advocacy Working Group busy this spring and summer. The report is now available on our website under the ECA News section: https://lnkd.in/gFaN87p2 We have maintained our focus on the member priorities of industry competitiveness and investment, fair and transparent procurement, risk‑balanced contracts, and workforce supply issues, but with a bit of a new twist: we’re leaning more on the exceptional talents of the Alberta Construction Association to carry forward our provincial advocacy, and we’re pivoting to election‑readiness in advance of the upcoming municipal campaign in Edmonton. This is a strategic pivot that leverages the gains we’ve made establishing the ECA as a credible and essential stakeholder in provincial policy discussions, and ensures they are reflected in a municipal advocacy narrative that champions construction as necessary to a growing, livable city. All the while, we have increased awareness of the ECA value proposition as a pragmatic, solutions‑oriented convener for government and industry, we have fine-tuned our municipal relationships, and we have maintained focus on our key issues: investment, equitable and transparent procurement, affordability and cost, workforce development, and collaborative delivery models. #governance #ecabuildsyeg #governmentadvocacy #yeg #yegconstruction #skilledtrades

Canada's #Budget 2025 will be an important one. This first federal fiscal plan of the new Carney government will be critical for both Canada’s #economy and the #construction sector that builds its foundations. In its pre-budget submission, the CCA outlined key priorities to support industry resilience and national prosperity. I look forward to seeing how these are addressed in October.
