🌹🤜 Mit Dornröschen gegen solide #Tumore – weiterentwickelte CAR-T-#Zelltherapie macht Hoffnung bei soliden Tumoren! ➡️ https://lnkd.in/ezyb__qd Die neue Therapievariante der #Immuntherapie wurde vom Fraunhofer IZI - Institut für Zelltherapie und Immunologie (#IZI) gemeinsam mit dem Universitätsklinikum Würzburg entscheidend weiterentwickelt. Sie soll die Behandlung der wesentlich häufigeren #solideTumore wie beispielsweise Eierstock-, Brust- und Nebennierenrindenkrebs ermöglichen. Der Schlüssel hierfür sind die ROR-Moleküle (ROR = Receptor tyrosine kinase-like orphan receptor), die eigentlich nur während der Embryonalentwicklung eine Rolle spielen. Im Erwachsenenalter sind die ROR-Moleküle kaum noch vorhanden – außer bei #Krebspatienten und zwar auf der Oberfläche der Krebszellen. Das Forschenden-Team hat T-Zellen so modifiziert, dass deren Rezeptoren genau diese ROR-Moleküle erkennen. Im Rahmen des gemeinsamen Projekts haben die Forschenden auch den aufwendigen Herstellungsprozess effizienter gestaltet: Dabei hilft ein Enzym, die »𝗦𝗹𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝘆» 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗮𝘀𝗲. Das Enzym ermöglicht es, therapeutische Gene in das Genom von Zellen zu integrieren, um so die speziellen CAR-T-Zellen herzustellen. Ein echter Hoffnungsschimmer für Patientinnen und Patienten – die ersten Ergebnisse sind vielversprechend. Heute besuchte uns bei BioM … der neu gewählte Vizepräsident der LMU Philipp Baaske, gleichzeitig auch weiterhin geschäftsführender Gesellschafter von NanoTemper Technologies. Als Vizepräsident für Entrepreneurship vertritt er spezifische Querschnittthemen, in diesem Fall Unternehmensgründungen, -wachstum und Investitionen. Gemeinsam haben wir über die Möglichkeiten und das große Potential an der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München und in Bayern im Bereich der #Biotechnologie und Medizin gesprochen.
