From Japan to Canada: Building the Future of Battery Production ⚡🌍 After 14 years in Japan, Raymond Wong brought his expertise in cell development and manufacturing engineering to #PowerCo in Canada. As a Sr. Equipment Planner, he designs, validates, and scales production equipment for battery cells, focusing on the crucial formation and aging processes to ensure top-quality cells. Raymond’s work directly impacts PowerCo’s efforts to make mass production of Li-ion batteries a reality, advancing the shift towards electrification. Relocating from Japan to Canada has brought its challenges (like realizing that cars are actually a thing here!), but Raymond is excited to contribute to the green transition back home, finding his rhythm in both work and everyday life. 💬 His advice for future movers: "Be prepared for the change, embrace diverse weather, and enjoy the opportunities for personal and professional growth!"

🚧 Main Access Road Completed – Driving Sagunto’s Gigafactory Forward The main access road – the key logistical lifeline for #PowerCoSpain and the entire industrial area – is now complete. More than just a road, it’s a crucial connector to major transport routes, making day-to-day operations smoother for everyone on-site and boosting competitiveness across the region. With the support of the Generalitat Valenciana, the Sagunto City Council, and other institutional partners, we’re building the infrastructure that will strengthen Europe’s EV industry and industrial ecosystem It’s a sign of holistic project progress: it’s not just the #gigafactory itself, but the infrastructure around it that makes operations possible. Without it, we simply couldn’t run. We’re one step closer to operational readiness – and fully committed to powering the future of sustainable mobility with clean energy solutions. ⚡ #Sagunto #Valencia

🌈 Diverse people. Unified cells. Around 50 colleagues from PowerCo and Volkswagen joined the Christopher Street Day in Braunschweig – loud, proud, and bursting with color. Together, we made a powerful statement for unity, openness, and lived inclusion: at PowerCo, diversity isn’t just a value we talk about – it’s how we work, live, and thrive together. Under sunny skies, our group marched alongside thousands of participants and allies, proudly wearing our Pride shirts and carrying our message through the city. The atmosphere was electric – full of positive energy, music, and creativity – a true reminder of the power of community and allyship. 💛 A huge thank you to everyone who walked with us, supported us, or cheered us on. By showing up together, we sent a clear signal: at PowerCo, everyone should feel safe to be their authentic self – not just during #Pride, but every single day. Because Pride doesn’t end with the parade. It’s something we live all year round. #diversity #inclusion #CSD

From the UK to Romania to Germany: Connecting Lessons Learned Across Continents 🔄🌍 With roots in Portugal, a degree from the UK, and experience in both the automotive and pharmaceutical industries, Ricardo Brandão brings a truly international mindset to PowerCo. As a Problem Solving Expert and Global Lessons Learned Coordinator, he helps define quality standards and spreads best practices across all our battery sites - from Dalian to Salzgitter, from Valencia to St. Thomas. Relocating to Germany was a strategic decision: to live in the heart of Europe and contribute to something bigger - building the future of battery production. His biggest challenges? Navigating a new language and German bureaucracy. His biggest gain? A vibrant new life in Braunschweig, just 14 minutes from work, and closer than ever to Europe’s major airports (for his next BJJ camp or spontaneous city trip 😉). 💬 Ricardo’s advice to future newcomers: Learn about insurance, visit before you move, and don’t be shy - reach out, ask questions, and plan ahead.
