Das 12. sächsische GIS-Forum 2012 konzentriert sich auf transparente und interoperable grenzüberschreitende Open-Data-Politiken und die Integration öffentlicher räumlicher Daten. Das Dokument stellt die Herausforderungen und Fortschritte in Bezug auf die EU-Richtlinie zur Wiederverwendung öffentlicher Informationen und die Inspire-Initiative dar, die Ziele für eine harmonisierte geodateninfrastrukturelle Entwicklung in Europa definiert. Es wird auch auf die fortlaufende Entwicklung von Gesetzen und Strategien zur Förderung offener Daten in Sachsen hingewiesen.
