Night Lights

Night Lights is the most amazing interactive projection on a building I have ever seen. YesYesNo were asked to turn the Auckland Ferry Building into an interactive playground for the viewers. There were 3 different types of interaction – body interaction on the two stages, hand interaction above a light table, and phone interaction with the tracking of waving phones. That input was then used to manipulate 6 different scenes. Just watch the video and you’ll know why this is a very impressive project:

The photo below is the Lilypad Project with a series of floating self-sufficient ocean-going eco-city islands. It was suggested as the most fantastical one of these green wonders. City in a Pyramid, the future...

The Shimizu TRY 2004 Mega-City Pyramid is a proposed project for construction of a massive pyramid over Tokyo Bay in Japan. The structure would be 12 times higher than the Great Pyramid at Giza, and would house 750,000 people! More info...

The proposed structure is so large that it cannot be built with currently available materials, due to their weight. The design relies on the future availability of super-strong lightweight materials based on carbon nanotubes.

Jean Nouvel’s Giant Dildo Building

This bizarre high rise office building design is the proposal by the French designer Jean Nouvel. The glass-clad building is wrapped in a metal brise-soleil based on a traditional Islamic pattern.
