A productive summer for the European construction teams at ITER! 👷♂️🏗️ In the last weeks, F4E and its partners onsite reached several milestones around the emergency power supply buildings. These are part of the back-up power infrastructure that will keep ITER running safely in the event of electricity disruptions. ☑️ The five medium-voltage transformers are installed on their oil pits, with their wall protection in place. ☑️ The two Medium Voltage Distribution Buildings, located on either side of the Tokamak Complex, are now weathertight. This certification required the completion of painting, façade cladding, door installation and other works to protect the equipment. With these achievements, we can move from the civil engineering phase to electromechanical installation. We did it in collaboration with ITER Organization and our suppliers Ansaldo Nucleare, Monsud S.p.A., with the support from the Energia and b.Next consortia. Thank you all for the smooth coordination – there is no quiet period at ITER! 👏

🎓 Caps in the air, graduates! The 3rd edition of the JT-60SA International Fusion School closes today after two inspiring weeks in Naka, Japan. 20 students from Europe and Japan attended the course organised by National Institutes for Quantum Science and Technology (QST) and EUROfusion with the support of Fusion for Energy. They had the opportunity to learn from leading fusion experts, with lectures on topics like plasma diagnostics and control, device engineering or AI for research, as well as practical exercises. And, of course, the highlight was the visit to JT-60SA! The students got a guided tour around the machine and had a first-hand glimpse of the ongoing upgrades. International teamwork, the key to the complex design of ITER Test Blanket Modules (TBM) 🤝🧩 Experts from Fusion for Energy, ITER Korea and ITER Organization met at ITER for an intensive four-day workshop to assess the progress of the European and Europe-Korea TBM designs. These prototypes offer a one-of-a-kind opportunity to develop and test tritium breeding solutions, crucial for making future fusion power plants self-sufficient in fuels. The three teams went through a long list of aspects, from engineering analysis to safety and operation plans. The thorough and collaborative work paid off, as they solved design issues and defined a joint way ahead. 👏 Thank you all – the TBM are on the right track! It’s time for ITER’s first Japanese gyrotron to come to life, powered by European technology! 🇯🇵⚡🇪🇺 The powerful RF generator by ITER日本国内機関（JADA）- ITER Japan will be commissioned using a unit of the Electron Cyclotron Power Supplies, delivered by F4E and Ampegon.

The assembly of ITER does not stop in summer! ☀️🔧 At the Assembly Hall, each of the nine Vacuum Vessel sectors gets fitted with two D-shaped Toroidal Field coils and thermal shields, forming a massive module of over 1000 tonnes. Two of them are already side by side in the tokamak pit, awaiting the rest. With powerful tools, meticulous planning and a touch of finesse, the world’s largest fusion reactor is steadily taking shape. ⚡ Europe powers up ITER’s high voltage supplies! The teams of F4E, Ampegon and ITER Organization recently achieved the first energisation of the high voltage equipment, part of the Electron Cyclotron Power Supplies. The eight European units will deliver an extraordinary electrical power to 16 gyrotrons, which will convert it into powerful microwaves to heat ITER’s plasma. Bringing the equipment to life is a major step in the project. It kicks off full commissioning and paves the way for their integration with the gyrotrons.
