We recently hosted our second “Retail Ireland Next Gen Girls” event at Baggot Plaza, welcoming over 40 participants for a day of interactive learning. The event introduced attendees to banking and featured sessions on AI and deepfakes, fraud awareness, and social media. A panel of Bank of Ireland graduates also shared their career journeys and insights from their rotations. We’re proud to support initiatives that promote gender diversity and help young people explore careers in financial services.

Paul O'Brien from Bank of Ireland’s Security team featured on Down to Business on Newstalk at the weekend with Bobby Kerr to discuss business fraud. Paul advised on what employers need to do to protect their businesses and their employees from fraud attacks. From fake investment ads to CEO impersonation and invoice redirection, fraudsters are increasingly targeting Irish businesses, he warned. O’Brien shared practical advice for SMEs on how to stay protected: “Never, ever pay money out of your business on the basis of an email – whether it’s from a supplier with new bank details or someone senior in your company – without talking to them first.” Bank of Ireland offers 24/7 support and works closely with law enforcement to help businesses respond quickly to suspected fraud. Training, clear processes, and early reporting are key to prevention and recovery. We were delighted to welcome historian Lucy Worsley to College Green, our home since 1808 and a landmark we’re committed to preserving for generations.
All of us at Bank of Ireland are immensely proud of College Green, our home since 1808 and formerly Ireland’s first parliament, and I was honoured to welcome Lucy Worsley as part of her latest project. College Green is a building with a history that matches her passion for bringing the past to life, and we’re committed to protecting, preserving and future-proofing the building for generations to come. Many thanks to John McGrath and the College Green team for making this morning’s rare and memorable visit possible for Lucy and her crew.

Bank of Ireland has today published its H125 results, reporting PBT of €721m and ROTE of 14.8%. This reflects strong strategic execution, with AUM, Irish loans and deposits growing, supporting an upgraded outlook for net interest income in FY25 and beyond. Myles O'Grady O’Grady, Bank of Ireland Group CEO: “The Group had a good H1 performance, with a profit before tax of €0.7 billion and is on track to deliver its full year targets. We are mid-way through the final year of our strategy and delivering with momentum. This is underpinned by our strategic execution, differentiated business model and the attractive markets we operate in. Product and digital innovations are strengthening our customer outcomes.
