Huge congratulations to the LaunchLoop team on winning first place at the National AI Challenge yesterday! The team — all participants in Enterprise Ireland's New Frontiers programme at IADT Media Cube/NovaUCD — includes: Kevin Collins → echofold.ai Alwin Stephen → neuramodal.com Daniel Smyth → tendr.ie Over a two-week sprint, they built GradGenie (gradgenie.net), a production-ready platform for grading Leaving Certificate exams. Powered by transformer-based OCR and a workflow of five AI agents, GradGenie reduces exam grading costs and turnaround times by 80%, helping eliminate delays that impact college placement schedules. The competition brought together 540 participants across nine hubs in Ireland. From 44 teams at the start, only 15 made it to the final showcase — and LaunchLoop came out on top. An incredible achievement for the team and a great example of Irish innovation in AI.

IADT Media Cube reposted this
Last week, IADT's Enterprise + Innovation team attended the Final Showcase of the Student Inc. Entrepreneurship programme held at the Munster Technological University Arena. Over the past 13 weeks, 10 IADT students, working on the Creative Student Inc programme, joined peers from Munster Technological University, University College Cork, University of Limerick, Mary Immaculate College, Ireland, South East Technological University, Atlantic Technological University, Dundalk Institute of Technology, and Technological University of the Shannon, diving into creative entrepreneurship and developing their business ideas from the ground up. It has been inspiring to see the incredible progress the students have made, turning early stage ideas into short films, working prototypes, animation demos and more. Throughout the programme they have gained new skills in entrepreneurship and steadily shaped their business ideas. IADT is proud to pioneer entrepreneurship programmes for the creative sector and continues to work on a suite of these programmes to include the IADT Student Accelerator and the C-Accelerate + programme which took place during the Summer of 2025. The Student Inc showcase day was a celebration of the creativity, hard work, and determination of the students and a testament to the power of the creative entrepreneurship programme in action.
