We are at the cusp of a Quantum revolution, and India should not miss the bus this time. Quantum computing will become mainstream in the next 5-10 years, and would be essential from the safety, security and sovereignty of a country. With advancements in quantum, what seems to be unbreakable today may not be so in future. Therefore to make our critical systems leak-proof, interception-proof and secure investment in Quantum is a must. Countries like US and China have taken a lead in Quantum and India must catch up quickly. While Government of India has made a good start with the National Quantum Mission, but significant further investments are needed in this space. The private sector also needs to step in and invest and best utilize their free cash instead of focusing on dividends.
