Spot the differences! Two years after tree-planting event with LifeTerra 🌲 In the spring of 2023, the leadership team of Faber Group planted together with Life Terra Foundation around 650 trees in a forest which was devastated by a tornado in the area of Aschaffenburg, Germany, as part of our 2023 Leadership Summit. Faber Group more than doubled the amount to 1600 trees to further support the reforestation. LifeTerra recently shared some pictures with us to show what the area looks two years later and it seems hard labour pays off! Emerging Leaders Faber Group face resilience challenge! Resilience is a vital human trait- and a key asset, especially in a rapidly changing world and within a company like ours, driven by bold ambition. That's why we have made resilience training a core part of our Emerging Leader program. At Faber group, one of our core values is "dare"- so we took a distinctive approach. Resilience isn't built by reading books or simply talking about it. Therefore, we brought our emerging leaders together for a ‘special forces’ style resilience challenge in June. Out in a forest in the east of the Netherlands, they were put to the test for 18 hours without sleep and being physically and mentally tested to the max by a team of special forces professionals. Our emerging leaders had to complete several challenges in which they experienced ‘leadership under stress’ – making tough decisions being out of your comfort zone whilst the clock is ticking. During the drill exercises they felt the importance of taking ownership, collaboration, trust, support, discipline, communication and not giving up – just like in our business environment. After the challenge, multiple participants gave as feedback they were surprised that the limits of the body and mind are far higher than expected when you are pushed out of your comfort zone, which boosts self-confidence and personal growth. They also felt that being and working together in these rather extreme circumstances strengthened their bond as a group of emerging leaders. ‘An experience for life’ as one said. 📢 Faber Group has released its Sustainability Progress Report 2024, highlighting our sustainability performance, KPI’s and ambitions. “In 2024, we were able to help our customers avoid more than 40,000 tons of CO₂ emissions through our circular pooling model, a steady increase of more than 8% of saved emissions in comparison to 2023. We also retained our EcoVadis Platinum rating, placing Faber Group in the top 1% of its industry for the fourth consecutive year”, says CEO Ingrid Faber. “The launch of our tech-division Faber LABS and investments in digitalisation further strengthen the company’s ambition to become Europe’s most sustainable pooler.” The third edition of our Sustainability Report shows the further integration of our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) pillars across our business - and how we are creating sustainable value - with collaboration, digitalisation and sustainable procurement becoming key drivers in realising our ambition. ♻️ Recycle is good. Reuse is better. And here’s why we need to talk about pallets. The Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) prioritises reuse - and for good reason. Each year, the EU generates 186.5 kg of packaging waste per person. And single-use pallets are a major contributor. At Faber Group, we’re offering a smarter way forward. Our reusable load carriers are: ✔ Built to last for 20–50 trips - replacing dozens of single-use pallets and saving up to 200 kg of timber per pallet. ✔ Supported by repair programmes across Europe. ✔ Saving up to 200 kg of timber per pallet. ✔ Cutting lifecycle emissions by up to 60%.
