Touchdown 💪 This week, Heerema’s Sleipnir safely installed the 5,200 tonnes Munin jacket on the seabed in the Yggdrasil area. In a controlled operation, the jacket was lifted from the transport barge, upended, and placed in its exact position. Work is now underway to secure it with eight piles, each driven to a depth of nearly 60 meters. The Munin jacket has been a solid project from start to finish and the result of true teamwork — engineered by Aker Solutions, delivered by Heerema Fabrication Group, and installed by Heerema Marine Contractors on time, with quality, and safely for Aker BP ASA. Sleipnir successfully installed the jacket of ScottishPower Renewables’ first-ever HVDC offshore converter station at East Anglia THREE, weighing 3,700 mt & standing 59 meters tall. 🌊 At Heerema, we closely follow and support the growing investments in the wind industry, from (local) governments to financial institutions, knowing how critical these projects are for the energy transition. Offshore wind projects are major undertakings, so we prepare every detail to ensure efficient, high-quality results. Thanks to thorough preparation, excellent teamwork, and favorable weather, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘄 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲. Sleipnir has delivered a major lift for Scotland’s energy future, placing the core of Inch Cape, the nation’s largest offshore wind farm just 21 km off the Angus coast. ⚙️ A 68-meter jacket. ⚡ A 2700 mt double Siemens Energy offshore transformer module (OTM®) 🌍 Nearly 5 TWh of clean energy per year (enough to power half of Scotland’s homes) Offshore precision. This is a sight you don’t see that often: a massive jacket being launched into the water. Behold - the launch of Aker BP ASA's Hugin A jacket from our barge, the H-591. 👀 After the successful launch of this gigantic 22,000 mt steel structure, fabricated by Aker Solutions, Sleipnir’s crew connected both cranes to the jacket and started the ballasting operation to get it in an upright position. Once vertical, the jacket was moved to the installation location and successfully set down onto the seabed. A job well done! 👏 Next up? 𝐀𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐁𝐮𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐉𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐭 Ørsted'𝐬 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐡𝐮𝐚 2𝐛 𝐚𝐧𝐝 4 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐬! 👏 In just three months, our crew onboard the HLV Aegir installed an impressive total of 66 foundations, the foundation for 920 MW of offshore wind power in Taiwan. A huge accomplishment. It was a unique experience to work in a windfarm assembly line with the Aegir. From scour protection installation to blade installation, all vessels were active in the field, working side by side in close coordination.
