𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐂𝐚𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐬 From 16 to 22 September, Europe celebrates the #EuropeanMobilityWeek, inviting cities to reimagine how we move and to discover healthier, more sustainable alternatives to private cars. When urban spaces prioritise people instead of traffic, the benefits are clear: ✅ Cleaner air ✅ Safer streets ✅ More opportunities for physical activity ✅ Stronger, more cohesive communities Within the JA PreventNCD, we focus on how urban planning and mobility policies can help prevent non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and reduce health inequalities. A concrete example is the growing number of 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐬, where traffic restrictions around schools improve air quality, lower accident risks, and encourage walking and cycling. These small local actions can become lasting public health solutions.
