Darrick Pang- Convenor, WG on Bunker Mass Flow Metering joined Neo Jia Ling- Assistant Director, MPA to present on SS 648:2024 – Code of Practice for Bunker Mass Flow Metering on 6 Aug @ MBS Convention Centre, organised by Singapore Chemical Industry Council-Standards Development Organisation (SCIC-SDO).   Together, they outlined key updates to Part 1 and Part 2 of the standard, designed to support the bunkering industry’s continued transition toward greater efficiency, digitalisation and sustainability.   The session concluded with a dynamic panel discussion led by Jia Ling, featuring Tan Wei Teck, Darrick Pang, Pang Junjie and Rafael Theseira who responded to the industry feedback and shared insights on the implementation readiness.   As Singapore continues to lead in bunkering excellence, these enhancements reaffirm the industry’s shared commitment to standardisation, transparency and innovation. Metcore (ZhouShan) Technical Service Co., Ltd joined Zhejiang-Hong Kong Professional Services Cooperation Conference to Advance Green Marine Fuel Innovation | we were honoured to participate in the 2nd Zhejiang-Hong Kong Modern Professional Services Cooperation Conference in Ningbo (July 25–26, 2025), as part of the Hong Kong delegation invited by the Hong Kong Shipowners Association (HKSOA). Over two dynamic days, we engaged in meaningful exchanges focused on port innovation, green shipping development, and the future of marine fuel measurement and control. Highlights included visiting Ningbo Zhoushan Port’s Meishan Terminal, where we witnessed cutting-edge automation and digitalisation in action and attending in-depth discussions on shipping finance, green port cooperation and maritime law. Metcore (ZhouShan) gained valuable insights into policy developments and opportunities for collaboration in green marine fuel bunkering, digital measurement technologies, and standardisation between Zhejiang and Hong Kong. We look forward to exploring joint efforts to advance high-quality development in green marine fuel measurement and control technologies, supporting decarbonisation across regional shipping hubs. Collaborative Safety Sharing on Methanol: Preparing for the Future of Green Bunkering | As the maritime industry accelerates its shift toward low-carbon fuels, methanol is emerging as a key alternative — but with it comes the critical need for robust safety practices.   Our #MetcoreInternationalPteLtd operations team, together with industry partner #ChimbuscoPanNation, participated in a comprehensive methanol safety sharing session led by a veteran expert with decades of experience in oil, gas and chemical tanker operations. The session focused on enhancing awareness and operational readiness for methanol bunkering.   Key topics included methanol’s properties, health and physical hazards, MSDS awareness, safe handling procedures, proper PPE usage, and concluded with emergency demonstration on managing methanol exposure incidents. A fantastic two days, diving into the fundamentals and best practices of MFM system operations. From in-depth classroom session to on-barge training, we explored how data integrity, compliance, and real-time monitoring are driving the future of bunker quantity surveying. Port of Ceuta leads the way with ISO 22192-Certified Mass Flow Meters (MFM) System. The Port of Ceuta is setting a new benchmark by mandating the use of ISO 22192-certified MFM System for all marine fuel deliveries starting February 2025. As the first Mediterranean port to adopt this standard, Ceuta is leading the charge in modernizing marine fuel supply operations, ensuring transparency and trust for vessel operators and fuel buyers alike. At Metcore, we advocate adopting harmonized standards such as ISO 22192 for bunkering measurement. By requiring certified MFM systems, the Port of Ceuta is taking the right approach to prevent discrepancies, eliminate inefficiencies, and foster a more transparent bunkering process—essential for ports meeting growing demands for operational transparency and compliance with global environmental regulations.
