The office was buzzing when I together with Ou Steven and Arlene Tan hosted Organon’s Head of Manufacturing and Supply, Joseph Morrissey, and key members of the Global Manufacturing and Supply Leadership Team, John Smith, Joshua Hillman and Jeff Kuc, at our regional Headquarters in Singapore.   It was truly inspiring to learn more about the rapid evolution of our Manufacturing and Supply Network and to discuss how we can leverage our state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities to accelerate our growth journey in Organon Asia Pacific and beyond.   Embodying the values of Organon, our Global leaders also prioritized engagement of all parts of the organization in informal conversations and discussions. Thank you so much for the visit!!

Across the globe—including Korea—economies are grappling with the challenges of declining populations. Among the 21 APEC member economies, 17 are currently facing demographic decline. Women’s health and fertility care are critical to demographic resilience. They are directly linked to women’s physical and mental well-being, sustained economic participation, and the formation of healthy families and communities. Organon was honored to collaborate with National Center for APEC on the workshop titled: “The Future of Fertility Care: Innovation and Policy Development in Women’s Health”, held on the margins of #APEC2025Korea Public-Private Dialogue on Demographic Response & AI Cooperation, bringing together public and private sector policymakers and health experts to address fertility care access gaps and demographic challenges across the Asia-Pacific region. Key themes discussed included: • Linkages between women’s health, fertility care, and demographic resilience • Effective integration of fertility care into national demographic and economic policy frameworks • Barriers to access and equity in fertility care and strategies to close the gap • Opportunities for regional cooperation and cross-sectoral knowledge-sharing among APEC economies We hope this workshop serves as a catalyst for policy innovation and strengthened partnerships to advance women’s health and address demographic challenges across the region. Building Demographic Resilience Through Women’s Health and Fertility Care This week in Incheon, Korea, the National Center for APEC, in partnership with Organon, convened a high-level roundtable on the future of fertility care, an urgent and strategic issue for the APEC region, where 17 of 21 member economies face demographic decline. We were honored to open with remarks from Jiyoon Lee, Korea’s Senior Official for APEC, who framed the importance of placing women’s health and fertility care at the center of strategies to build demographic resilience. Hannah Armstrong, Associate Principal in the Life Sciences Practice at Charles River Associates, shared findings from a newly released CRA report examining public policy approaches to fertility care access in the Asia Pacific region. Her insights underscored how evidence-based policy-making can drive both equity in access and long-term economic benefits. From the clinical front lines, working every day in an economy confronting one of the world’s most severe population declines, Dr. Hwa Young Choi, fertility specialist at Maria Fertility Hospital in Seoul, offered a powerful perspective on the human realities behind the statistics. Our discussion emphasized: 📈 The economic case for investing in women’s health: up to $13 billion in potential benefits from improved quality of life, reduced healthcare costs, and sustained workforce participation. 🚧 The need to remove barriers to equitable fertility care, from cost and geographic gaps to cultural stigma. 🤝 The role of innovation and collaboration: leveraging technology, AI, and public–private partnerships to expand access and improve outcomes. By exchanging best practices, identifying shared priorities, and fostering regional cooperation, we took important steps toward ensuring women’s health is recognized as a pillar of demographic resilience. Thank you to all our participants for contributing to this rich, solutions-focused dialogue. Together, we can advance policies that strengthen communities, economies, and the future of the APEC region. #APEC #FertilityCare #WomensHealth #DemographicResilience #PublicPrivatePartnerships #NCAPEC #Organon #APEC2025
