Congratulations Mary!
I am delighted to share that this summer I graduated from the University of Bath with a First-Class Honours Master of Pharmacology degree and am honoured to have also received the RenaSci Prize for Best Overall (Year 2) in Pharmacology. I am incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to study and live in such a beautiful city, and for the invaluable experience I gained during my placement year at Concept Life Sciences in Edinburgh under the guidance of Darryl Turner. A sincere thank you to all the academic staff at Bath and my colleagues at CLS for their support and encouragement, all of whom made a real difference to my studies. One of my final-year highlights was writing my literature-based research project exploring the role of cancer-associated fibroblast-derived semaphorin 3E in promoting perineural invasion in pancreatic cancer. I thoroughly enjoyed delving into the science and am especially thankful to Ed Carter for his mentorship throughout the project. Finally, a big thank you to my friends and family for being with me throughout the four years; you’ve given me memories that will last a lifetime. Here’s to the next chapter, I’m excited to see where it takes me!
