After Green-washing (and Rainbow-washing and more) are we entering a new era of #FinancialServices using #AI-washing to attract clients? An interesting take from Joseph Simonian, Ph.D. for Financial News this week. He articulates what many of us have probably already started to experience; brands exhorting their AI capabilities in a way no human can determine the validity of. Especially when firms can hide behind the "secret sauce" defence of not sharing their proprietary AI tools. Joseph, a senior affiliate researcher to the CFA Institute, takes aim at #investment and #assetmanager firms who, he says, cannot possibly replicate the in-depth #dataScience expertise of tech firms. I do think it's worth noting that many financial services firms - financial market infrastructure, for example - have complex technologies woven into their DNA. While there is a scramble to test and embed AI capabilities at scale, I don't doubt their ability to achieve this and remarkably swiftly. That said, I agree that AI-washing is a risk we all have to navigate. As #communications professionals, it will also be up to us to push back on AI-washing copywriting swill...tempting though it may be. The competitive pull to showcase being at the vanguard of technological change is being felt across all high-knowledge sectors. Of course; firms are being told AI will revolutionise every facet of their organisations and operating environments, and they can't afford to be perceived as laggards. The real test, however, will come as to whether there is a greater reputational risk inherent in being perceived as "AI-washing" or in being perceived as an AI laggard compared to their peers. We will see. Read full article in Financial News: https://lnkd.in/euYW-dKF #AIethics #AIadoption

Your content strategy is about to change.   As of tomorrow, Instagram will begin allowing Google to index public posts from business and professional accounts. This is more than just a privacy update. It could affect how your customers find you, change SEO and content strategies, and entice traditionally social media-averse businesses to join Instagram.   What does this mean for businesses?   💡The golden rules of SEO now apply to your social content. Pepper your Instagram copy with thoroughly researched keywords, and begin adding alt text to your posts.   💡 Consider discoverable search terms when drafting your Instagram captions. What is your ideal customer searching Google for? Include those terms in your copy.   💡 Consider a more localised content strategy. Where are your ideal customers based? Tailor your copy to be discoverable in these areas, and begin to use location tags. Instagram posts tagged with specific locations could appear in local Google searches.   💡Social media is all about authenticity. Don’t forget to strike a balance between SEO-friendly captions and maintaining an authentic brand voice.   Ultimately, Instagram is an arbiter of social proof. The potential impact of your social media presence appearing across Google is huge, allowing potential customers to easily find you and gain an immediate sense of your brand, messaging, and online community.   Did you know about this imminent change? How are you shifting your content strategy to capitalise on this?   #InstagramSEO #SocialMediaMarketing #DigitalMarketing #SEOOptimisation #ContentStrategy #SEOStrategy
