About us
Haventus is an energy transition facilities provider, offering pivotal infrastructure for the offshore wind industry. The company identifies, redevelops, and manages strategic sites to enable the renewable energy sector to develop at scale. Haventus’ mission is to serve the global imperative for a net zero future. Our first facility is under development at Ardersier Port, located near Inverness in Scotland. The site is on the Moray Firth, a prime location to serve the offshore wind market. Ardersier Energy Transition Facility will provide Scotland’s largest facility on the North Sea coast for deploying and servicing offshore wind installations. The 450-acre site is accessed via an initial >650 metres of quay, with a further 1 kilometre of quay development forming the centrepiece of the site’s future expansion. The facility will be key to deploying offshore wind projects over the next decade and an important enabler to Scotland achieving net zero by 2045. Ardersier Energy Transition Facility is a designated tax site within the Inverness and Cromarty Firth Green Freeport area. This status unlocks various tax and customs incentives and benefits for businesses establishing facilities in the Green Freeport area.

Latest progress at our Ardersier Energy Transition Facility. Our harbour has been dredged to -12.4m CD, and capping of the quayside is well progressed, providing load-bearing capacity in excess of 25 tonnes per square metre. The hard work continues as we look ahead to transitioning to operations before the end of the year, as we seek to play our part in delivering the additional port capacity required to deploy offshore wind at the pace and scale required to meet energy security and net zero imperatives.

Our CEO, Lewis Gillies has decided to step down from his role at Haventus. Future operations and development require a longer time horizon than Lewis can comfortably entertain. Lewis emerged from retirement to join us in early 2023, developing Ardersier from a brownfield site to positioning it as a potential world scale Energy Transition Facility, and a vital supporter of offshore wind deployment across the UK. Delivering Phase 1 of a large-scale infrastructure project at Ardersier on-time and on-budget is no easy feat for projects of this nature and scale. Thanks to Lewis’ contributions, vision, drive, and commitment, Haventus is well-placed for the future, with a firm foundation and a clear sense of purpose. Ian Cobban, presently Chief Operating Officer with Haventus, will act as interim Chief Executive Officer while the company undertakes the search process for a permanent holder of the role.

“The country is putting plans in place to recapture the energy security and independence we once took for granted. Delivering Floating Offshore Wind (FLOW) would help secure substantial provision of the nation’s power needs from offshore wind, in perpetuity. Seize FLOW, and this power source will benefit us all.” Our CEO, Lewis Gillies, on why floating offshore wind (FLOW) is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to drive industrial renewal, secure energy independence, and create high-quality jobs. 🔗 Read the full Op-Ed in the The Scotsman to find out more about why FLOW matters, what’s at stake, and how the UK can lead the world in this critical transition: https://lnkd.in/efxQFFZx #OffshoreWind #EnergyTransition

The latest progress at Ardersier Energy Transition Facility: dredging operations in our approach channel and inner harbour have made strong progress, providing the depth of water (at 12.4m CD) and width of harbour needed by the vessels supporting the offshore wind industry. Our quayside is close to completion, providing load-bearing capacities significantly in excess of offshore wind developer requirements. We are on schedule for the facility to become operational in Q4 2025. Haventus is adding significant new offshore wind port capacity to Scotland and the UK’s capabilities. With ports identified as a key bottleneck to the deployment of offshore wind at pace and at scale, we continue to develop plans for further expansion to meet the needs of the Floating Offshore Wind industry, as we continue to commit to playing our part in enhancing energy security, supporting the journey to clean power and stimulating economic growth.

Solving the logistics and supply chain puzzle for offshore wind developers. Our CEO, Lewis Gillies updates on progress at our Ardersier Energy Transition Facility, and Lewis explains how plans for the next phase of the development remove significant complexity and risk for floating offshore wind (FLOW) developers. Delivery will support driving down the overall cost of FLOW, and stimulate wider economic growth in the Highlands and Scotland.

Innovation and industrialisation will be critical to enabling Floating Offshore Wind (FLOW), and driving down the cost for developers. Haventus and Sarens PSG have combined to develop a low-cost solution for the integration and launch of FLOW turbines, supporting the deployment of FLOW at pace and at scale, significantly reducing complexity for developers and the supply chain. It’s an important step as we continue to develop our Ardersier Energy Transition Facility as a key location for the industrialisation of FLOW and the economic growth this will create. Haventus Chief Executive, Lewis Gillies: “Industrialisation, innovation and scale are critical to creating meaningful employment and to driving down the cost of floating offshore wind to parity with fixed offshore wind, if not lower. These factors will put Scotland and the UK at the global forefront of FLOW. This heavy-lift solution, developed with Sarens PSG, is a radical departure from conventional practice; it will substantially reduce the cost of floating wind which ultimately can help reduce all of our electricity bills.” Sarens PSG Managing Director, Steve Clark: “This is potentially a game-changing step for floating offshore wind. Industrial-scale deployment demands industrial-scale solutions and this partnership with Haventus can deliver exactly that. “By executing all heavy lifting operations whilst the floater is still onshore, we’re enabling fully integrated wind turbines to be assembled and launched safely, efficiently, and independent of marine weather delays. This can be a milestone for Ardersier, with positive implications for the wider offshore wind industry.” Find out more – https://lnkd.in/emQkTFVa
