It's always great to see many months of work behind the scenes finally making it onto the big screen! Setting up a successful offshore wind industry in a new market like New Zealand cannot require developers to investigate everything forever. The avifauna risk assessment methodology (catchy!) will help understand which of NZ's seabird species are more at risk of being impacted by offshore wind development, so we can all focus research, resources and mitigation efforts where most meaningful.

Businesses in the Swansea region chasing success in the floating offshore wind (FOW) market can now apply for our award-winning Fit for Offshore Renewables (F4OR) supply chain programme. Inch Cape : transformer platform set in place In a beautiful calm silver sea off the east coast of Scotland the giant Sleipner has set in place the cornerstone of the Inch Cape project. The substation will be the centrepoint of the offshore wind farm being built off the Angus coastline. The giant platform sits in 50m of water and will collect over a GW of power from Inch Cape’s 72 turbines before being sent down two cables to supply the national grid at Cockenzie near Edinburgh. Its a great milestone for the Inch Cape team and the exemplary work with our contractors Siemens, Smulders and Heerema for the planning and execution of this scope. The next phase of work will be the installation of the first export cable this summer and the first of the turbine foundations going in by the year end. The first plans for a tidal barrage across the River Mersey were introduced in 1924 ⚡️ The Mersey Tidal Power Project (MTPP) aim's to establish the largest embedded tidal power project in the world right here in the North West. Linking Liverpool and the Wirral, the MTPP will consist of a barrage featuring 28 turbines, sluices and marine navigation locks to harness power from the region's largest national resource. Once operational, the 700MW MTPP will generate enough electricity to power every home in the Liverpool City Region for over 120 years, with options to distribute power to the wider North West.
