𝐀 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝-𝐟𝐮𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐬 It’s rare these days to attend a healthcare event where there is no commercial angle, no hard sell, no (unsubtle) agenda. The Healthtech dinner every couple of months breaks that mold and allows people in our digital health community to come together in an informal, unstructured way. The goal is interesting conversations. Friendships follow. Sometimes business deals too. Lovely outcomes of course, but primarily it’s all about bringing people in our community together. Last night at Browns in Covent Garden, over 40 people assembled for great food and even better conversations. Old friends and colleagues reconnected. New friendships initiated. People came from as far away as Dorset, Birmingham and even Manchester (thanks Taz Aldawoud). As Taz mentioned in a post last night from Steve Barnett, there were multiple NIA fellows in the room and over half the most recent cohort of SBRI winners. The talent, innovation and the will to succeed were all well represented by those who attended last night. The noise of the conversations flooded the room and when I left at nearly 10pm, many of them were still in full flow. A positive sign of a great evening. Plenty of new people joined in as well as stalwarts who have been to many dinners before. While the outlook for UK healthcare in general is not as positive as we’d wish, seeing health innovators come together to put that situation to rights with their ideas for change is always inspiring.
