The training has been done (look at some of the photos 😍), and this weekend, 14 Silvery Tweed Loafers are taking on the two Northumberland Coast Mighty Hikes this weekend to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Starting at Alnwick Castle and finishing at Bamburgh Castle, both the 13 and 26-mile walks take in the stunning Northumberland coastline. We’re delighted to share that our Technical Administrator, Emma Nicholson, has achieved the Royal Society of Public Health Level 4 Award in Managing Food Safety & Hygiene. The intensive course, made up of four days of classroom learning and a four-hour exam, builds on Emma’s expertise and strengthens the capability of our entire technical team. When we set out on our environmental sustainability journey, supported by Beyondly, one of our early aims was to understand how much it costs in carbon terms to manufacture products here at Silvery Tweed. Well, now we know. Every tonne of product manufactured in our factory generates 40kg of carbon. In sustainability speak, that’s 0.04 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO2e).
