Whew! Capping off three very full days of events and reconnecting. 😅 Mash Media’s The PA Show was held on the lovely grounds of the Honourable Artillery Company. And it was an honour for me to share my fave c-suite speaking frameworks with the enthusiastic audience. I enjoyed chatting with Jasmine Mbye for the first time in a few years and connecting with vibrant event hosts Marianne Whitlock and Sarah Howson. Great to work with you and thanks, Max Agostini and Gus Agostini for the opportunity. After dinner with family I had a lovely breakfast meeting with 'Ronke Kokoruwe who’s an incredible speaker coach I love recommending to clients. Then I had the pleasure of keynoting for Virgin Media O2’s CTO senior leadership summit. It’s wonderful to meet with clients in person - Annabel Catchpole - fab to catch up again and thank you for facilitating the invite. Then on to rooftop drinks hosted by the extremely personable team at Blink - Employee Experience Platform. Georgie Scott - always so much fun to be in your company 😊 and Michel Cassius and Sean Nolan - you both inspire me with your humility and commitment. Thanks Olivia James for joining me there, in spite of a broken toe - ouch! I really enjoyed our conversation beside the pool at Blue Marlin Ibiza London, facilitated by Padron peppers and rosemary fries 😉 Then a full day at the The Speaker Awards & Summit. As an introvert I know that pacing myself is important, so I stayed very low key. 🤣 However, it was great to say a quick hi to Elliot Kay and Maria Franzoni, eye-opening to hear James Taylor speak on the many ways speakers can use AI to generate business, and I enjoyed 🎤Sarah Archer (FCIPD) ‘s Ask the expert session on turning single speaking engagements into ongoing work. Among this year’s winners were The Grove, TAG, Blacklane, and Pret A Manger. New awards included Best Venue Finding Tool for Assistants, presented to Miss Jones, and Best Corporate Gifting Supplier, won by John Lewis & Partners Gifting. ‘Culture is how employees’ hearts and stomachs feel about Monday morning’ Bill Marklein. 💬 Blown away by the very first session of the day at The PA Show Summer Summit.💥 🎤 As compere, alongside my brilliant co-host Sarah Howson, it was an honour to introduce ‘Culture Architects: How Assistants Shape Organisational DNA’. A powerful fireside chat facilitated by the insightful Max Agostini from Mash Media with the inspiring Ruth Creely, Group EA & Head of Culture at Nineteen Group. Business support professionals are so much more than their job title. This session really hit home that EAs are culture catalysts, at the very heart of embedding values, driving inclusion and creating meaningful engagement across organisations. 💡 Here are just a few takeaways: - What are your company values? They should come to life the moment someone walks through the door. - Inclusion is everything. - Listen to what’s really happening on the ground. - Quick wins matter…suggestion boxes, Wimbledon decorations, or even hiring an ice cream van 🍦 can make a big impact. - Culture must be embedded, not bolted on. - Consider a ‘Culture Club’ made up of employees from different departments. - Check in with people.
