Leveraging AI tools can significantly help in this area. For instance, AI-driven code review platforms can automatically detect potential issues or inconsistencies before they become problems, enabling teams to adapt quickly. Additionally, machine learning models can predict how changes to one part of the code might affect other areas, improving overall code stability. In a world where continuous updates are the norm, integrating AI into the development process can empower teams to stay proactive and agile.

In my specific industry, we’re constantly looking at codes and integrating changes that may have occurred to ensure our work is done correctly. I want to make sure my customers are taken care of and the project is done up to code as we guarantee our work for 10 years. So this is an important component of our job. The honest roofer 😊

5. Revisões Periódicas: Avalie regularmente a conformidade do projeto com as normas vigentes. 6. Consulte Especialistas: Trabalhe com consultores para garantir a conformidade técnica. 7. Documente Tudo: Registre decisões e implementações para auditorias e referência futura.

Any change in the specifications or codes after signing the EPC contract will lead to a change order. In the dynamic word of project, things can change very fast with universal change in international codes or standards. This leads to re-engineering, re-establishing the construction philosophy,Scope change and if it is related to procurement item, then it may cause huge delays in the project. How the change of code will affect the project is to be analysed and further mitigation can be opted for keeping the stakeholders informed.

The way I see it, codes are minimum requirements that the authorities having jurisdiction have accepted but the job of designers is to design solutions that at least comply with these standards. If you as an engineer or architect can scientifically prove that a solution or material not covered in the codes can provide the same or better performance as the code, these solutions can be accepted. Another aspect about codes is that since they are accepted by the AHJ, projects are required to comply with the code accepted revision of the code and if a new version is approved after the project has been approved for construction, it is grandfathered. One way to be ahead of changes is to identify areas were you can exceede code requirements.

Like everything else in a modern, fast-paced world, an engineer needs to continually learn and develop. To do this, he or she can attend conferences, webinars or, better still, be part of working groups that influence the codes themselves. This will at least let them know that changes are coming and prepare for them in a project if the timetable for implementing those changes justifies it.
