Students from Berkeley High School were impressed this morning to learn that Type Five is more than a software startup in #Berkeley. It's also a general contractor, architect and design firm that offers an affordable solution to address our country's critical housing shortages. The team is laser-focused on building homes, but allows everyone on the team (salespeople, project managers, architects, designers, + subcontractors) to use their skills to achieve the company mission. “If you care about what you’re doing, you’ll be good at it.”— Tim Thimmaiah, Type Five CEO & Founder “Architecture is a very competitive field. It's hard for my students to find jobs in the field. But I love that Type Five is showing that you can build your own career. And you can help the city with your ideas.” — Klea Bajala, BHS Carpentry & CAD design teacher "We have a technical back-end but communicate in a language that anyone can read." — Aleksis Bertoni, NCARB, Type Five COO & Co-Founder Thanks to the whole team for sharing their career learnings during this STEM CareerX tour, sponsored by the City of Berkeley and organized by the Institute for STEM Education at CSU East Bay
