  • 🚨 We’ve officially launched our new website! 🚨 Buncombe County’s redesigned site is now live at BuncombeNC.gov — and while the look and feel will be familiar, you’ll notice some important upgrades designed to make your experience smoother, safer, and more accessible. Some of the updates include: 🔹Transition to a .Gov domain. By using a .gov domain, this is one more way to identify official, trusted information. 🔹New .GOV email addresses ensure credibility and legitimacy to the community and County partners. 🔹For security and technical reasons, this switch gives the County exclusive access to protections and services only available for .GOV domains. 🔹Continued ADA compliance to assist users who have low to no vision and other disabilities. 🔹More frequently updated content thanks to a back end that more staff members can access. 🔹All the online portals, resources, and other information on our current website will be hosted on BuncombeNC.gov. 🔹Sign up for notifications from departments and programs you are interested in. No action is needed from you — any old links will automatically redirect to the new site. But we recommend bookmarking BuncombeNC.gov moving forward.

  • It’s National Nursing Assistant Week, and we are celebrating the Buncombe County Medical Office Assistant (MOA) team! Our MOAs do it all, from welcoming clients and assisting with procedures to scheduling follow-ups and supporting essential programs like STI care, family planning, and PrEP. They’re the first smile you see and a steady hand behind the scenes, working hard every day to make sure our clinics are caring, comfortable, and efficient. Help us say THANK YOU to these healthcare heroes this week and every week! #ThankYouMOAs #NursingAssistantWeek #BuncombeCountyHealth

  • Our amazing Election Services team just brought home not one, but TWO prestigious Clearinghouse Awards (Clearie Awards) from the U.S. Election Assistance Commission! 🎉 First Clearie: The award for Exemplary Contingency Planning & Emergency Response is a huge recognition of how Election Services sprang into action after Helene, ensuring every voter had a safe, secure way to cast their ballot in 2024... talk about showing up when it matters most! Second Clearie: The Communications Award for the heartfelt “NC Together” video series, which was a moving collaboration between our CAPE team, the NC State Board of Elections, and local election heroes. These videos reminded voters across the state that their voices matter, and that the folks behind the scenes truly care. We’re so proud of our team! Buncombe County’s got that Clearie glow 🌟
