Metro Vancouver’s Annacis Water Supply Tunnel reached a major milestone earlier this week as “Anna,” the Tunnel Boring Machine, successfully completed her journey to New Westminster! Delve Underground is providing #constructionmanagement services representing Metro Vancouver, the owner, for the project. The project includes a 4.5-meter-diameter, 2.3-kilometer-long tunnel with a 2.6-meter steel water main beneath the Fraser River between New Westminster and Surrey. The tunnel will provide increased capacity to meet future demand and remain operational during and following a major earthquake. We’re one step closer to delivering resilient water infrastructure for future generations. #DelveUnderground #AnnacisTunnel #ConstructionManagement #TBM

Coming soon to Maryland: Rocky, a 300-foot-long tunnel boring machine that will help protect Ellicott City from severe flooding. As part of the Ellicott City North Tunnel Project, Rocky, named by the citizens of Howard County, will soon excavate a mile-long tunnel beneath Main Street to the Patapsco River, moving up to 26,000 gallons of water per second to preserve the historic community. Shipped in over 40 pieces from Ohio to Maryland, Rocky will be assembled on site and begin tunneling through solid granite, over 100 feet underground, in early 2026. Substantial completion is anticipated by fall 2027.
