  • Most job seekers talk about experience. David Honig, one of the top marketing executive recruiters in the business, says that’s not enough anymore. In today’s market, recruiters are scanning for something sharper: skills you can prove, tools you can use, and value you can quantify. In this short clip, David breaks down how candidates can boost their search fast by showcasing the skills that actually get attention from executive recruiters. If you want the full conversation, including hidden job market insights, what recruiters really look for, and how to stand out on LinkedIn - subscribe to our YouTube channel and watch the full episode here: https://lnkd.in/e2bwbTHY More candid recruiter advice. More clarity for your search. More strategies for 2026 and beyond.

  • AI can write your résumé. But according to executive recruiter David Honig, one of the top marketing executive recruiters in the business, it can also close doors just as fast. In this short clip, David breaks down why AI-written résumés often get rejected and why recruiters are looking for candidates who can back up their value, not just format it. Debra Boggs dives into what we’re seeing on the candidate side too: it’s not about “having a résumé.” It’s about having one that actually gets you hired. If you want expert support preparing for your 2026 job search, you can schedule a call with our team at D&S Executive Career Management. Looking for a new position this Holiday Season? Check out KB Search openings at www.kbsearchteam.com and these holiday job searching tips from our friends at D&S Executive Career Management. Sleigh Your Job Search Over the Holidays: "No one hires during the holidays, so I'm going to start my search in January." If this is you, you're handing your competitors a five-week head start. Because every year, we see offers being made (one even came in the Friday after Thanksgiving). And candidates who want an offer in Q1 are already in the pipeline for those opportunities. So, between now and January when everyone returns to the office, don't sit on the sidelines while your competition builds relationships.   Here are a few ways to keep your job search moving and even build momentum through the holiday season: Keep Your Foot on the Gas - We’re still seeing offers going out to clients this month. Companies are closing out budget cycles and teeing up Q1 hires. If you’re already in a hiring process, stay visible and responsive so you don't lose momentum. Turn Holiday Events into Networking Goldmines - Holiday parties, social gatherings, and end-of-year celebrations are all networking opportunities in disguise. Be intentional with how you show up. Have a clear message about what you’re looking for, and follow up with, “Who else should I be talking to?” Reach Out Before the January Rush - Want to stand out? Start now. The week between Christmas and New Year’s is the perfect time to warm up your network with casual, friendly messages. A simple “Happy New Year! I would love to reconnect” can spark conversations with cold connections. Be Specific About What You Want - Don’t tell people you’re open to anything. That dilutes your message. The clearer you are about your ideal next step and the value that you bring, the easier it is for people to refer you or advocate on your behalf. Start Planting Seeds Now, Even if You’re Not Moving Until Spring - Even if you plan to stay in your current role for a few more months, now is the time to lay the groundwork. A typical executive search takes 6, 8 and even 12+ months in this market. Start the conversations now so you’re not starting from zero in March. Thank you D&S Executive Career Management for these great tips! KB Search Team

I hear these statements all the time from senior leaders in the job market: • Decision-makers check out completely this time of year • Nothing moves until Q1 • No interviews are scheduled between now and Jan. 1st But here's what really happens: • Budgets get finalized (including new executive headcount) • Q1 hiring plans get locked in • Senior leaders actually have time to take recruiter calls • Candidates are getting added to the short list now for Q1 hires • And yes, offers are still being made. Really. Who do you think lands an offer first? It's the senior leaders who are building rapport with decision-makers in December while everyone else is "waiting until January." So between now and January 5th, are you sitting on the sidelines while your competition is building relationships and opening doors to opportunities? Want the exact steps to keep up momentum in your search over the holidays? Watch out for our email newsletter coming out on Thursday where I'll break it down. 𝗪𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝘀𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿? See the link in the comments. D&S Executive Career Management and recruiter friends - What are your top tips for job seekers over the holidays?

  • Today is a good reminder of something we often forget in the middle of big career moments. Preparation is an act of self-respect. A little every day. Before the pressure hits. Whether it is updating your contacts, paying attention to the signs, or simply getting your footing before anything changes, those small steps give you dignity, clarity, and control when it matters most. On this Thanksgiving Day, I hope you take a moment for yourself too. To breathe. To regroup. To ground. To prepare for whatever is next with confidence instead of fear. And if you are in a season of transition, know this. You can walk through it with your head high. You can leave any chapter gracefully. And you can step into the next one stronger than you think. Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at D&S Executive Career Management. Wishing you calm, clarity, and a full heart today.
