📊 As market volatility continues, a new study finds that homeowners are falling behind on mortgage payments. A new Cotality report finds that more homeowners are falling behind on mortgage payments, with sharp increases in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. While general economic pressures mount, key factors contribute to an increase in mortgage delinquencies, including escrow costs, which are up 62% in the last five years. Property taxes are another issue in states with high delinquencies, particularly in Florida where they jumped nearly 50%. According to Bankrate, homeowners continue to feel stuck, with over half saying they wouldn't buy or sell — even if rates drop.
