We would like to thank HPI Architecture for choosing RMA Architectural Photographers to photograph the Santa Rosa Junior College Polly O’Meara Doyle Residence Hall. The Polly O’Meara Doyle Residence Hall is SRJC’s first-ever on-campus student housing facility, designed to address the growing housing insecurity among community college students. The project reflects the college’s commitment to student success, well-being, and equitable access to higher education by providing affordable, secure, and supportive living accommodations. Last week, our Design Team gathered in person at our Newport Beach office for a day full of collaboration, learning, and team connection. From deep dives into project updates across housing, education, and interiors to discussions on design workflows and emerging tools, the day was packed with energy and ideas. We were also excited to welcome a special guest, an architecture student from Cerritos College joined us to explore the design process and get a firsthand look at life in the industry. The team wrapped up the day with happy hour and a few rounds of Mario Kart to keep the competitive spirit alive! The MVC Welcome Center stands as a gateway to opportunity for students and families in the Inland Empire. Completed in 2021, this 17,316 sf state-of-the-art facility includes career and curriculum support, as well as meeting spaces, presentation rooms, and offices for student counseling, admissions, and financial aid. Reflecting on this impactful project reminds us how thoughtful design and construction can contribute to student engagement and success. Earlier this week, our Newport Beach and San Diego teams came together to dive into exciting new projects, explore upgraded tools, new initiatives, and share in some amazing life milestones at the Summer All Staff Meeting. It's always a highlight to connect, collaborate, and celebrate everything that makes our team strong. We are looking forward to the next one!

Last week, our team had the privilege of hosting Compton College’s President Dr. Keith Curry at Guerdon’s Factory to walk through the prototype for their Student Housing project and tour the production floor. There was a real sense of joy and pride in seeing this first-of-its-kind modular student housing project reach such a major milestone. The Bernards and GUERDON, LLC teams have spent countless hours collaborating to bring this vision to life. This progress wouldn’t be possible without the dedication and expertise of so many partners. A huge thank you to HPI Architecture, The Anaheim Group, Gafcon PM-CM LLC, Volz Company and all the consultants who have made delivering much-needed student housing their top priority. It’s taken thousands of hours, innovative thinking, and true partnership by all to get here. And most importantly, thank you to Compton College for entrusting us with this opportunity. Exciting progress on this development! Our team completed our first structural observation for the Compton College Student Housing project yesterday. Russell McLellan, SE and Jorge Rios, P.E. observed foundation reinforcement for a portion of the structure. Looking forward to seeing this project continue to take shape.
