Have you seen the MaineHealth CONNECT (Community Outreach Network Navigation Evidence-based Care and Treatment) van out in the community? Launched on July 1, 2024, the CONNECT Outreach Van provides low-barrier treatment and services to unhoused patients suffering from psychiatric and/or substance use disorders in the greater Portland area. This mobile health clinic meets patients where they are on the street during periods of transition. The van allows for comprehensive psychiatric care; this includes treating opioid use disorder, providing harm reduction supplies, and meeting basic needs with toiletries, handwarmers, socks, underwear, etc. Our goal is to build a trusted relationship with unhoused patients, encouraging them to utilize outpatient services and receive preventive care that will improve their quality of life while reducing reliance on emergency department visits.

Care Team Member Spotlight! Lindsey, MRI Technologist III, MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Lindsey has been a MaineHealth care team member for 10 years! After becoming a junior volunteer getting to know and love the hospital, a family member encouraged her to look into a career with radiology. “I went through the Radiology program at Maine College of Health Professions (MCHP) and graduated in 2012”, said Lindsey. “From there I worked at another hospital but always knew I wanted to go into MRI, expand my knowledge and follow my dream of working at Maine Medical Center. I reached out to a few contacts and shortly after, I was hired. I truly am so happy that I made the decision and have learned so much and am still learning.” “MRI is always busy - whether it is patient load, patient needs, or busy learning. Researching our patients and what type of scans we have scheduled for the day. We are constantly learning, and every patient is different. New technology is always coming out and radiologists are always teaching us new things. We really get to know our patients.” “I love that our department is like a family”, Lindsey added. “Everyone is always willing to try and help one another out, whether it be for covering a shift or advice on what to do when scanning. I highly recommend joining our team - come ready to learn, work hard, laugh, and grow as a technologist!” Lindsey – thank you so much for sharing your education and career journey with us! We’re so lucky to have you as part of the MaineHealth care team and are incredibly proud of your accomplishments. Interested in a Radiology career with MaineHealth?
