✨ What an inspiring week at #AOM in Copenhagen! I feel deeply honored to have contributed to three impactful sessions. 💬🌍
The week kicked off with the #Xackathon by xCultures, brilliantly organized by Wendy Farrell, Ph.D. Thank you, Wendy, and thanks to all colleagues for the energizing exchange around new research ideas. I’m particularly excited about our project with Karen Lynden, Marina Schmitz and Rodrigo Mello: "Empowering Global Minds for Sustainable Impact" – a powerful reminder that the student voice is becoming ever more critical in shaping sustainable transformation.
🎙️ A true highlight for me was the MED-AOM Ambassador PDW organized by my dear colleague Anne Berthinier Poncet and myself: “Be the Voice of Management Education.” We began with three inspiring perspectives – from practice, academia, and students – with heartfelt thanks to Wendy Farrell, Ph.D., #DeniseFleck, and Divya Singhal. These powerful voices set the tone for our World Café discussion on redefining the vision, content, and mission of the MED Ambassador programme.
Special thanks to our table heads – Miguel Olivas-Lujan, PhD, Marina Schmitz, and Madina Rival – who helped guide participants through three key questions about the future of MED Ambassadors:
💡 What core content should shape our mission?
📅 What events or projects can we implement before AOM 2026?
🎯 And what incentives will help activate and inspire Ambassadors?
With over 30 engaged attendees, the energy and richness of the discussion were truly encouraging. We’ll now share your input with the MED Chairs to turn these ideas into action – all with the goal of strengthening the role of management education in shaping a sustainable, future-ready economy.
📌 Together with Saloni Sinha Sina, I was also proud to present a research poster – co-authored with Wendy Farrell, Ph.D. and Marjaana Gunkel – on Responsible Management Education. One alarming finding: students do not consider sustainability a key factor when choosing a university, nor do they see it as vital for business success. This calls us – as educators – to rethink how we teach, and to inspire through innovative formats that connect sustainability with impact.
On the last day of AOM, I was honored to join a powerful Panel Symposium: “Engaged Management Scholarship – Enhancing the Legitimacy of Research and Teaching at Business Schools”, led by Rob van Tulder. Alongside seven brilliant colleagues, we explored shared definitions, institutional challenges, and publication pathways for making engaged scholarship visible. Rob’s framework is an inspiring call to reframe academic research as a driving force for sustainable transformation. 📚💡
🙏 Thank you to everyone who made this week so meaningful. Let’s keep pushing boundaries – because the world needs management education that empowers change.
