📢 Calling all Park Protectors! 📆 NPCA is leading a Day of Action to #ProtectEveryPark on 8/23. We’re taking action online, AND have more than 30 in-person events across the country. ⚠️ We could lose more than 350 national parks unless we come together and put an end to the reckless attacks on park staff, funding, and the parks themselves. ➡️ If you love parks, we need you – learn more at npca.org/everypark and tag a friend to spread the word.

One of the last undammed rivers in the United States and the first river to receive national protection, Buffalo National River is a a rare example of what a truly untamed river can be. 🌊 Visitors from all over the world come to recreate and create memories, generating millions of dollars that fuels local jobs and small businesses. ⚠️ The president's budget threatens national park sites like these, putting not only the river at risk, but also the livelihoods of an entire region. We can't imagine America without a protected Buffalo National River, can you? https://bit.ly/45nzPde Photo: Craig Hanson/Dreamstime

One of the planet’s most ecologically diverse environments, this site is home to sweeping dunes, ancient volcanic formations, broad mesas, and one of the largest Joshua tree forests on Earth. But this incredible landscape is under urgent threat. A foreign-owned mining company is bulldozing protected land inside Mojave, threatening the protection of wildlife and the unique flora and fauna in one of the largest and most diverse desert preserves in the world. We can’t imagine America without Mojave National Preserve, can you? Learn more: https://bit.ly/40mxDBc

“Great countries do not avoid their history. We learn from it, we confront it when necessary. That gives us an opportunity to heal and come together.” ICYMI: Alan Spears, Sr. Director of Cultural Resources at NPCA, joins Jake Tapper on CNN to discuss this administration’s dangerous pattern of erasing American history in our national parks.

A new Senate funding bill supports America’s national parks and their staff at a time of mounting challenges. The Senate Appropriations Committee recently approved its Fiscal Year 2026 Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations Bill, rejecting the dramatic funding cuts proposed by both the Trump administration and House of Representatives. Instead, the bipartisan bill holds funding steady and supports staffing, operations and public access across the Park System as well as provisions to hire urgently needed Park Service staff.

📉 With national park staffing slashed 24%, parks across the country are understaffed at peak visitation season. Timed entry provides a smoother visitor experience, allowing rangers do their jobs instead of being parking attendants. 🌲 Another bonus of timed entry? It helps protect our national parks and all the incredible natural and cultural resources they hold. We're helping keep our parks safe for future generations - and that's exactly what a park advocate does. 📝 We have tools to help you #PlanBeforeYouPark! https://bit.ly/4oa7GPx
