This week DHH called his new project "open source" despite a license that restricts competing SaaS use. Matt Mullenweg pushed back. Now they're arguing about definitions. I've spent 20 years working on open source sustainability. The definition matters, but it's not the real problem. The hard problem is that companies extract enormous value from open source while leaving maintainers to carry the weight.
