We're Papa. We're here to help.
About us
Papa is an end-to-end human care network supporting the social needs of older adults, other underserved populations, and families. Through our national network of vetted and trained Papa Pals, we deliver personalized non-medical care, companionship, and everyday assistance right to members’ front doors. We’ve facilitated millions of in-person visits in more than 7,300 U.S. cities, helping countless members get to the doctor or grocery store, age in place for longer, ward off loneliness, and much more. Our program has been associated with improved healthcare utilization, medical cost reductions upward of 19% for higher needs populations, and significant improvements to members’ qualities of life and well-being. We envision a world where no one has to go it alone.

Social support has the power to improve health outcomes, reduce cost of care, and boost member engagement, especially when it’s delivered with purpose. That’s why #PapaPals do more than offer friendly company. They uncover risks, build trust, and teach new skills—serving as eyes, ears, and advocates that health plans can rely on. And they bring something else that’s harder to measure: connection, comfort, and a sense of being seen. That combination of support can change everything for your members, and your health plan. ➡️ Discover how Papa Pals fill the gaps that lead to better care for #MedicareAdvantage, #Medicaid, #SpecialNeeds, and #EmployerGroup Plans: https://lnkd.in/e5E5Wmx8

Papa member Deborah and Papa Pal Regina didn’t know each other a year ago. Now, they’ve built a bond that’s helped carry Deborah through one of the most challenging seasons of her life. 💙 Deborah, a former nurse and home health aide, is going through a rough patch as she experiences severe back and sciatica pain and attends frequent doctors’ appointments each month for treatment. Regina, a #PapaPal and lifelong caregiver, has become her go-to support—not just for rides to these appointments, but for the encouragement and support to keep going. Their similarity in age and common interests gives them lots to chat about in the car. ”We talk about growing up, our families, things we went through, music we listen to, our experiences from the past and school. I’d be lost without it,” Deborah says. This is what #Papa was made for: meeting practical needs with care rooted in human connection. One ride, one conversation, one meaningful relationship at a time. 🫂 Hear from Deborah directly in the audio clip below, and read their full story here: https://lnkd.in/ef3kWDnT

Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan (#DSNP) members are a diverse group navigating socio-economic barriers that traditional care often overlooks. We see the disparities play out in our own data. Compared to Medicare Advantage members, DSNP members at #Papa report: 📈 Higher rates of severe loneliness 📅 More unhealthy days 🧍♀️ More difficulty finding someone to help when they need it 🚌 More transportation barriers We meet these members where they are—with flexible, in-home support that builds trust and closes critical gaps in support. 💡 Want to learn what really drives engagement for this high-need population? Join Papa’s Head of Research & Impact, Kelsey McNamara, at next week's #SNPInnovationsSummit for her session on Advanced Engagement Strategies in Care Management. Can’t make the session? 💸 $5.3 trillion That’s how much the U.S. spent on health care in 2024. Yet we’re still underinvesting in the areas that can meaningfully reduce those rising costs: preventing illness rather than just treating it. We know health doesn’t start in the exam room. It starts long before—with reliable transportation to the doctor, a well-stocked fridge, a safe home, a support network to rely on. If we want to truly bend the cost curve, we cannot disregard the social factors that disproportionately drive health outcomes. ➡️ Review the latest report in Health Affairs: https://lnkd.in/ewv9wVyw
