I'm excited to share findings from our recent partnership with Parallel. We used our ALTRIOS and ALTRIOS-LIFTS tools to: 🔹 Model and simulate Parallel’s next-gen railcars along the Heart of Georgia #railroad 🔹 Optimize battery sizes, charging #infrastructure locations, and platoon sizes to ensure Parallel railcars can transport cargo up to 500 miles on a single charge 🔹 Evaluate multiple dispatching strategies within the Cordele Intermodal Train Terminal 🔹 Find that an optimized dispatching strategy can help reduce container delivery times by nearly 70%. The best part? These findings helped inform Parallel’s successful petition to the FRA to launch a pilot. Their railcars are now in phase 2 of a 7-phase trial. If successful, they will be well-positioned to help #FreightTrains become more competitive for short-haul deliveries. Learn more about our findings:
