#READI featured as part of the Best Student Abstract Award at the Digital Public Health Conference | Funchal, Portugal The IHI-funded READI project proudly contributed to the award-winning research presented at this year's Digital Public Health (DPH) 2025 Conference, held in Funchal. The paper, “Implementation by Inclusivity in European Health System-Level Digital Solutions,” was honoured with the Best Student Abstract Award, recognising its commitment to equity and inclusion in digital health pathways. The abstract was led by Carina Dantas and co-authored by Paloma Moraga Alapont, PMP®, Miriam Cabrita, Lars Münter and Nina Sønderberg, and presented on the final day of the conference. Drawing from the experiences and findings of several pioneering European health initiatives, the paper explores how digital transformation in healthcare must be inclusive by design, engaging underserved and underrepresented stakeholders.   The READI framework and approach was also presented by Paloma Arapont at the tutorial, AMR Data Surveillance for Targeted OneHealth Action, a working session highlighting the need for data platforms and digital tools that empower communities in science, development and solutions, co-chaired by Lars Munter and Carina Dantas   The READI project plays a central role in this body of work. It aims to ensure that innovation in cancer diagnostics reduces health inequalities across diverse population groups. By embedding equity as a core principle, READI informs practical strategies for system-level adoption of digital solutions — from participatory design to multi-stakeholder collaboration.   Quoting Paloma, “The READI project, with its emphasis on reducing disparities in clinical trials, provides a solid foundation for demonstrating how inclusivity can be operationalized at the system level.”   Carina added: “This recognition highlights the importance of inclusive implementation in digital health systems”.   The DPH 2025 Conference, organized by the UCL Centre for Digital Public Health in Emergencies, gathered leading researchers, policy makers, and innovators from across Europe and beyond.   📄 Access the provisional proceedings book here – with final versions to be published in Frontiers. 🌐 Learn more about the READI project: https://ihi-readi.org/ #DPH2025 #READIProject

👩⚕️👨⚕️ Advancing Patient-Centric Clinical Trials at the 5th Annual Clinical Trial Innovation Summit! On June 26, Lea-Isabelle Proulx and Juliette Guillot represented #READI at the Clinical Trial Innovation Summit in Basel — a key gathering focused on transforming clinical trials through digital health and patient-centric innovation. The IHI READI project was showcased as a positive example of public involvement in research at the conference "Innovation and Sustainability: The Grand Societal Challenges", held in Porto, Portugal, on May 29th. Our colleague Carina Dantas, READI partner and CEO of SHINE 2Europe, chaired the panel “Health, Literacy, and Artificial Intelligence,” and also delivered a presentation on PPI – Patient and Public Involvement in Research, where successful project examples were discussed—particularly the READI project and the work being developed within the community clusters activities. The conference, which welcomed over 100 participants, was co-organised by the Universidade do Porto and SHINE 2Europe. It facilitated discussions on initiatives, practices, and strategies shaping the future of European society, with a particular focus on topics such as inclusion, health, artificial intelligence, ethics, ageing, the environment, digital innovation, informal caregiving, inclusive and connected cities, sustainability, and collaborative ecosystems. #IHIREADI #Innovation #HealthResearch #Collaboration #ClinicalTrials #ClinicalResearch #inclusiveness

On June 4–5, the IHI READI Project held its first virtual General Assembly, bringing together all partners to share solid progress made so far and focus on the path forward. Yesterday, the READI project coordinators, Dr. Alberto M. Borobia from Hospital Universitario La Paz and Juliette Guillot, participated in the event "Rethinking Clinical Trials: Inclusivity in Practice," co-hosted by ECRIN (European Clinical Research Infrastructure Network) and Spanish Clinical Research Network (SCReN) in Madrid, on the occasion of #InternationalClinicalTrialsDay. What do “underserved” and “under-represented” populations mean in clinical research? What are the main barriers to participation in clinical research for these populations? And which innovations are most likely to increase inclusiveness in clinical trials? 👨⚕️👩⚕️❓👪 These and other questions were discussed yesterday to jointly envision the most important steps to transform the clinical research ecosystem and its capabilities—placing patients at the center and encouraging key stakeholders to work together for more inclusive clinical studies in #Europe. #READI #ICTD #ClinicalStudies
