🎈 Party like it's 1980! 🎈 Yesterday, we turned the big 4️⃣5️⃣! On May 28, 1980, we opened our doors as one of the first atrium-style hotels in the United States - complete with bold carpet, brass railings, and a rotating rooftop restaurant (yes, really)! Built by Hunzinger Construction Company as Milwaukee's MECCA Convention Center hotel (the Baird Center's predecessor), it was the first Hyatt hotel completed ahead of schedule and won the "Concrete Structure of the Year" award. Over the years, we've seen a lot of change, but one thing has remained the same: our immense pride in being part of the City of Milwaukee's skyline and hospitality spirit.
