National Grief Awareness Day is dedicated to raising awareness of the myriad ways in which individuals cope with loss. It offers resources to those going through personal losses and reminds us to support people we know who are grieving. Founded by Angie Cartwright in 2014, in hopes to encourage open communication on loss and bereavement and better inform the public on the facts of grief. Grieving is a normal part of losing something or someone you love, but it looks different for each of us. We all handle the difficult feelings that come along with grief in our own unique way. In honor of National Grief Awareness Day, we want to remind you to show yourself some grace and allow yourself time to heal. It’s okay to have an especially tough day. It’s okay to cry. It’s okay to be angry. It takes time to heal from loss, there isn’t a prescribed course as closure comes in many forms.
