Thank you QLTCC! 🤠🫶🏻 This was my first time getting to take the stage with Kyle Rand and collectively share our passion for innovation in dementia care. We are so grateful for the experience to share about the power of dementia friendly technology to fight isolation, create connection, and improve quality of life! Thank you for inviting me to join the conversation and for all that Rendever contributes to shaping the future of human centered care. PS: This definitely was not the kind of boot I wanted to get while in Austin, TX 🫠

I’ve always believed that you can teach people skills, but it’s much harder to teach them to truly care. This week, I tried something new: virtual reality empathy training from Rendever. They sent me a VR headset with modules designed to help people understand what it might feel like to live with dementia. I’ll be honest. I don’t have much experience with VR. But within minutes, I was struck by how immersive it was. The visuals were incredible. But more than that, the feelings it created were powerful. Frustration. Disorientation. Confusion. Empathy. This wasn’t just impressive technology. It was perspective shifting. As someone who has worked with hundreds of people living with dementia, I’ve spent my career trying to translate their experiences into something others can understand. That’s what I do in my videos, my trainings, and my classroom. But there’s something different about feeling it for yourself. Tools like this won’t replace education. But they can amplify it. They make the emotional weight of caregiving more visible. And they offer a new way to teach not just what to do, but why it matters. I’m excited about the possibilities this brings to my students at Eastern Kentucky University and to the broader world of dementia care training. Thank you, Rendever, for creating something that helps people care better, deeper, and with more compassion. #DementiaCare #VirtualReality #SLP #CaregiverTraining #Empathy #Rendever #BeLightCare #DementiaEducation #PersonCenteredCare

If I were a resident living in a senior living community, I might be considered an “aggressive” resident - just by being constantly frustrated! 😣 … now let me explain Earlier this week, I got to take part of Rendever ‘s virtual reality Dementia and Empathy training. ❤️ For those who do not know, Rendever delivers immersive technology for a longer, healthier, more connected lifespan. Their award-winning approach is centered around virtual reality designed to help people form better communities. This immersive dementia training puts you in the shoes of what it might be like to live with dementia. And believe me, I was FRUSTRATED. Better yet, I was angry! 😡 During one of the segments, the simulation gave me a laundry list of tasks to complete and then kept telling me I was wrong, and kept questioning my actions to the point where I was MAD! 🤬🤬 but it got me thinking… 💭 How often are my residents, living with dementia, overwhelmed by the amount of things I throw at them every day? 💭 How many of my residents get upset because they can’t complete a simple task? 💭 How many times do we medicate a person because of this frustration/anger when all the while it’s US who were the ones to elicit these feelings? I was angry huge skeptic of technology when it comes to dementia care - but Rendever’s Dementia and Empathy training has convinced me otherwise. Even with years of knowledge and experience working with people living with dementia, there’s always something new to learn about dementia. Learn more about Rendever by visiting www.rendenver.com Thank you Rendever for this eye opening experience! #rendever #dementia #virtualreality #seniorliving #memorycare

It’s not every day the future just shows up on your door step. Thank you Rendever for allowing me to take part in your Dementia & Empathy Care VR training experience. To be honest, my expectations were low going into it but I am floored by how wrong I was. I feel a new sense of understanding for those living with dementia. Participating in this, I’m allowed to gift this set and a year subscription to a community of my choosing. I am opening this up to a raffle to Parasol Alliance clients and anyone else who shoots me a note and shares why they or one of their communities should receive it. Let’s build the future, together. #rendever #expandingworlds #dementia
