About us

Via is on a mission to create public transportation systems that provide far greater access to jobs, healthcare, and education. Our platform serves as the technology backbone for modern transit networks, transforming antiquated and siloed public transportation systems into smart, data-driven, and efficient digital networks. With hundreds of agency partners in 30+ countries, Via is recognized as the leading transportation technology and service provider for governments. Via’s platform has pioneered microtransit — a new mode of mass transit – and today offers a comprehensive, end-to-end public transit solution that helps our customers design, operate, and optimize their transit systems using software, services, and billions of proprietary real-world trip data points. The result: lower costs, equitable access, and better passenger experiences.

When students can’t get to class, they can’t graduate. Transportation isn’t just a side expense — it’s a deciding factor in whether students finish college. Research shows: Students can spend 17% of their entire college budget on transportation — more than books. The impact of inadequate transit is profound: students miss classes, skip campus jobs, or drop out entirely. When schools invest in better transit, the story changes: • In Valdosta, GA, 10% of all microtransit trips are to schools. For some students, it’s their only way to class. • In Northwestern’s SafeRide program, tech-enabled upgrades boosted ridership by 65% while cutting cost per trip by 43%. As one student put it: “If the service were no longer available, I wouldn’t have a ride to school or work.” Learn more: https://lnkd.in/e2AdWRYN

Transit is an engine for local economies. At the U.S. Conference of Mayors, Martha Guerrero, the Mayor of the City of West Sacramento, shared how tech-enabled microtransit is reshaping mobility and economic growth. The results speak for themselves: ✔️ Access to 32,000 local jobs ✔️ 40% reduction in transportation costs for residents ✔️ 56% of riders spending money locally ✔️ Sales tax revenue flowing back into the city As Mayor Guerrero put it, “That investment that we are providing is bringing back sales tax revenue to our city. We are really grateful for the partnership this has provided.” 👉 Learn more: https://hubs.li/Q03G2FPg0

In Suffolk County, New York — a sprawling and diverse community just outside of New York City — Suffolk Bus Corporation (SBC) is taking bold steps to modernize its paratransit services. With over 2,500 daily rides across 900 square miles, the agency recently transitioned from a legacy system to Via’s tech-powered software, enabling significant operational improvements and better service for riders who rely on these essential trips. “The machine learning that the system offers us has really helped out our routers.” John Corrado, VP at Suffolk Bus Corporation.

💥 SURPRISE! Camden Mayor Victor Carstarphen hopped behind the wheel of a Camden Loop van — and gave some lucky riders a lift they won’t forget. It was all to celebrate a big win: $2 million in new NJ state funding to keep Camden Loop moving and expanding access for residents who rely on this essential, on-demand transit service. Check out the video to see how Mayor Carstarphen is leading by example — and putting Camden residents first: "I'm at your service, and I'm happy and proud!" The Loop is made possible through a partnership between the Camden Community Partnership and Via.
