It's been wonderful having Bryce Smiley, a Gannon University sophomore, intern with us since May! Double majoring in Software Engineering and Computer Science, he'll be studying abroad in Germany next fall and hopes to get an internship with a government agency while there. After graduating, he's considering a one-year Master of Business Administration program at Gannon before moving to Washington, D.C. to work for the government. As part of Standard Industries' #SummerOfService, our #SGIvolunteers used Volunteer Time Off (#VTO) over multiple sessions to help Renfrew Museum and Park with some extensive gardening and landscape care. They tilled and weeded the larger of the two German four-square gardens on site, and cleared Antietam Creek of debris/dams caused by severe weather. They also carefully removed a 120-year-old dead tree along the original driveway, ensuring the area remained safe for Renfrew’s daily guests.
