This photo was taken during our final inspection inside the newly rehabilitated 2.4m diameter Circulating Water System (CWS) Pre-stressed Concrete Cylinder Pipe (PCCP) using a stand-alone Carbon Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) system. It marks the successful completion of an almost 70-day outage, following a critical PCCP failure, an extremely challenging effort, both technically and logistically. What made this project truly memorable wasn’t just the scale of the work, but the complexity, urgency, and number of unknowns we had to navigate. Some key milestones: 🔧 Repair and restoration works 🔍 Condition assessment of the entire Unit 2 supply PCCP line 🧠 Engineering evaluation and failure risk analysis to guide return-to-service decisions 🛠️ Execution of internal structural rehabilitation 📚 Applied understanding of AWWA standards, with support from subject matter experts 🤝 Seamless collaboration across technical and support teams 🛡️ Zero Lost Time Incidents (LTI) – a true team win This project was a reminder that engineering goes far beyond designs and drawings—it's about adaptability, problem-solving, and teamwork on the ground. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished here at 1AP TBG-NL (GMEC) and grateful to work alongside such a capable and committed team.
