United Nations Foundation reposted this
Famine has now been confirmed in Gaza. Over half a million people are facing the most devastating form of hunger, marked by extreme food deprivation, acute malnutrition and starvation-related deaths. “It is a man-made disaster, a moral indictment and a failure of humanity itself,” stressed UN Secretary-General António Guterres, adding: “We cannot allow this situation to continue with impunity. No more excuses. The time for action is not tomorrow — it is now. We need an immediate ceasefire, the immediate release of all hostages and full, unfettered humanitarian access.” More from the World Food Programme: https://lnkd.in/dRujWHdQ
