Congratulations also to Dr. Mark Spong who received the IFAC Robotics Lifetime Achievement Award this summer. Spong is well-known for his contributions to robotics and control systems modeling and teaching. Congratulations to Dr. Reza Moheimani from the Department of Systems Engineering for receiving the IFAC Mechatronic Systems Lifetime Achievement Award this summer. We were honored to welcome City of Richardson Texas Mayor Amir Omar to this Summer's UTDesign Expo!   As Mayor Amir put it,  "What's exciting about what's going on here is this is a concentrated version of Richardson's legacy. We had innovation and entrepreneurship happen in Richardson, and you have the opportunity to see dozens of young innovators and their projects that can be used to meet the objectives of the city. I'm incredibly proud to see what the students are doing."   The Summer UTDesign Expo brought together brilliant minds from across Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering and The Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science at UT Dallas to showcase senior design projects — solutions spanning engineering, technology, and design that address real-world industry and community challenges. It was a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving at its finest.
