🏥 "Resistance is futile" - Why hospitals need to embrace ASCs A recent article published at Becker's poses that the shift from inpatient to outpatient care isn't slowing down. ASCs are now successfully performing complex orthopedic, spine, and cardiovascular procedures that were once hospital-exclusive - and doing it at up to 58% lower cost. Instead of resistance against ASC-aligned physicians, forward-thinking health systems are choosing collaboration through joint ventures and shared ownership models. 🤔 Key insight from AdventHealth's success: "It doesn't feel like 'us versus them.' Not every patient belongs in an ASC, and not every patient belongs in a hospital. Having both options ensures the right care in the right setting." 🦾 The Result: Better patient outcomes, improved hospital throughput, and physicians who actually want to work in these efficient, collaborative environments. ✅ This shift is furthered by innovations like the EndoSound’s EVS, which drops EUS implementation costs from $400K+ to $50K while using existing endoscopes already in the GI ASCs. Here is perhaps an example of what the article means: Echo-EGD can streamline patient diagnostics from a 10-week, $5,700 process down to 2 weeks and $1,320, showing that ASCs can deliver advanced procedures with good outcomes AND lower costs (these values are estimates based on Medicare). The migration of procedures is happening. Smart health systems are getting ahead of it. As hospitals face rising patient volumes, workforce shortages, and pressure to reduce length of stay, remote patient monitoring is no longer optional, it’s essential. At smartQare, we’re expanding the boundaries of patient care with solutions that support safe, confident transitions from hospital to home. ✔ viQtor delivers continuous post-discharge monitoring of pulse rate, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation, calculating a continuous Early Warning Score (cEWS) to detect complications early. ✔ Healthdot, our lightweight biosensor, continuously measures heart rate and respiratory rate, detecting subtle changes via a remote Early Warning Score (rEWS), ideal for short-term monitoring after surgery. Both solutions enable real-time insight into patient status—helping clinicians intervene sooner, reduce readmissions, and offer patients the comfort of recovering at home. Because with the right solutions, continuity of care doesn’t stop at the hospital door. Understanding the No Surprises Act in Cardiology The No Surprises Act reshapes how cardiology practices handle billing and patient communication: ▪️Transparency is mandatory – upfront estimates & clear cost-sharing details ▪️Balance billing limits – protecting patients, but tightening margins ▪️RCM under pressure – errors in disclosures = compliance risks & delayed ▪️payments ▪️Opportunity – accurate workflows & patient-first financial practices boost trust and collections Navigating these rules isn’t just compliance—it’s performance. Strong RCM strategies turn transparency into an advantage. #NoSurprisesAct #Cardiology #RevenueCycleManagement #HealthcareCompliance #PatientExperience #USHealthcare #GlobeCentrix

RPM in Post-Operative Care: Enhancing Recovery and Reducing Readmissions Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) is transforming post-operative care by providing continuous oversight to improve recovery and reduce readmissions. RPM devices track vital signs, activity, and wound status, enabling early detection of complications like infections or delayed healing. This real-time data allows for personalized adjustments to care plans and medications, optimizing recovery. RPM helps prevent costly readmissions by identifying warning signs early, particularly in conditions like heart failure or stroke recovery. It also boosts patient confidence and engagement by offering ongoing support, contributing to better adherence and improved outcomes, while providing cost savings for healthcare systems by reducing readmissions. https://lnkd.in/gs245v9r
