Why most SDR outreach is getting ignored in 2025 ? Buyers don’t answer cold calls. They ghost emails. LinkedIn messages go unread. So what actually works? >> Make it about them, not you. → Stop leading with “I’d love to book a call.” Instead, start with “I saw your post about [X] and had a quick insight to share…” >> Use multiple touchpoints. → Combine email, LinkedIn, video, and (yes) even voicemail. Buyers need multiple interactions before they engage. >> Follow up with new value. → Every touchpoint should add something new. A fresh insight, a relevant case study, a question that makes them think. The SDRs who stand out are the ones who put in the extra thought. Are you? CSM’s should be paid as much as sales (you can’t change my mind) In 2025 everyone cares about retention; that is literally all every company cares about (and their investors). -Buying cycles are taking longer -Sales teams are struggling -Competition is strong So what do companies have to rely on? Their CSM’s. They are they ones who are actually the most: - Under stress to keep revenue in the business - Have an increased workload with layoffs - Fight off churn at every corner - Most likely to burn out A CSM is responsible for 365 days of customer satisfaction, retention, and relationship. They are the farmer tending to the crops each week. If it goes well; the renewal happens. If it doesn’t go well; the client goes elsewhere. A CFO once told me “Companies who focus on purely on LTV are the ones that win in the long-term.” Do you agree with this; or have I been in the sauna for too long today? SDR Leaders: Tired of telling your team to bang out hundreds of cold calls and emails per day? Try these 10 more creative ways to build pipeline. 1) Create an interview show for your prospects This requires some work but it basically printed money for me while I was at TechTarget and Gong. It allows you to connect with a great prospect or customer for an hour in an unthreatening environment. 2) Handwritten Letter Sell to people who work in an office or onsite location (Real Estate, Dentists, etc.)? Write them a letter. Put it in an obnoxious bright green envelope. Send a follow-up email. Subject: "bright green envelope". Make a follow-up call: "Get any interesting mail lately"? 3) Green Bubble Strategy Go to LI during Exec Hours (evenings or weekends) Type in a keyword into chat that you send in your prospecting messages Anyone with a green bubble is online right now. Use odd timing to bump your message and get in front of busy execs. 4) Gifting, But Make It Better Gifting works. But don't stop at the boring gift card. Can you find a sports team, activity, charity, or anything the prospect cares about? I have a friend who visits a discount online auction and buys obscure items (Marcus Smart signed jersey, David Letterman t-shirt) for cheap to send to prospects. 5) Get In Person Have a marketing budget? Put together an event or private dinner for your top prospects and customers. Working on the cheap? Go attend a niche industry event. I have a friend who joined the Des Moines, Iowa CISO happy hour every month for a year. At first, he stood out like a sore thumb. After a while, he built relationships and it led to multiple six and seven figure deals. Do cold calls still work? Yes. Do cold emails still work? Yes. And...
