Position Summary
Reporting to the Controller & Vice President, Accounting, the Accounting Manager has overall responsibility for accounts payable including travel and expense reporting, payroll processing including state and local tax compliance, general ledger accounts reconciliations, journal entries, vendor contract management, and assists with special projects.
Primary Job Duties
Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external vendor invoice and employee reimbursement processing and payments
Lead assigned monthly close activities including the following:
Manage prepaids and accrued liabilities in coordination with department leads to ensure accurate expense capture and appropriate allocation of expense with variance analysis in alignment with departmental budgets and forecasts
Update and maintain fixed assets and intangible depreciation and amortization schedules
Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance. Communicate any material discrepancies and unexpected activity to the Controller.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure that financial information is accuratelyreflected in the appropriate accounting period
Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of financial data, in conformity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Provide oversight of Treasury function - bank accounts, and credit card accounts including monthly review of reconciliation of these accounts Work in coordination with Human Resources to manage the Academy’s employee benefits administration
Oversight of processing of payroll, benefits, and payroll taxes
Management of the preparation and filing of the company’s tax and other compliance forms as it relates to payroll
Manage the Corporate Credit Card and Expense program, issuing, maintaining, and closing accounts, managing spending limits, and ensuring reconciliation of expenses.
Perform financial analysis and prepare financial reports to support decision-making
Assist with annual departmental budgeting and ongoing forecasting.
Supervise and direct accounting staff in the areas of AP, Payroll and assigned General Ledger responsibilities
Research accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles as necessary.
Assist with building, implementing, and documenting new policies and procedures to improve the department’s ability to process transactions more efficiently and accurately.
Support Controller with interim and annual external audit process and third-party tax return preparation.
Performs other job duties, as needed
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance field and minimum of 5-7 years directly related full-time work experience
Supervisory experience required
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams, required
Proficiency with NetSuite, Paylocity, FloQast and Ramp preferred
Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards, and regulations including working knowledge of US GAAP, required.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience
Experience with NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Paylocity, and invoice and AP software such as Ramp bill pay and expense management
1-3 years public accounting or internal audit

This position is primarily a sedentary job where the team member will be seated for the majority of the day.

Salary Range
$100,000 - $106,000 USD
